- This Re-Recording of the Gershon Kingsley instrumental was released in 1972 with the original recording going back to 1969.. This version was so popular on it's release and made number 1 in Australia, France, Germany, Netherlands and a few other countries too.. It also made number 5 in the UK and number 9 in the U.S..

Purple Plastic case, Compact Cassette Tape.
I still have this, which I bought in 1973, at a shop in Omakau, Central Otago, NZ when working on the NZR.
One of the very first "special" tapes I ever bought, and played the hell out of it.
Yet - I still have it to this day (although I seldom play it now, as I want to keep it viable, for dubbing for the next few decades - to play)
Another song on that same compact cassette tape, was "Jungle Juice" (played the hell out of that too).
Wore out my National Panasonic Radio/Tape player, but not that purple compact cassette tape.
Delilah was another song on it, can't remember the names of others as hey - I was barely 20 back then (50 years ago) and at 70, am now forgetting the names.

Nice to find your channel again, yt must have unsubbed me ages ago. I remember listening to this tons of times on dad's National Panasonic integrated Record Player, tuner and cassette Hifi System here in Germany. Usually this would be followed by a Jean Michel Jarre LP.

@@olvinyldude another that came to mind was Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" that some people might remember was partially used in the movie "The Exorcist". I had came across a cassette tape of it around ten years later when I was stationed in Germany. Found out the actual music is over 25 minutes in length and towards the end he explains each instrument being used and has them play it has he says it ending with the Tubular Bell. It is very captivating. Really haven't heard anything like it since.
Its ones of them tunes that really sticks around in ones head, and i remember this one so well even though i was only a kid when it came out.. Thanks for watching...
