My daughter' s theme party at 2 wild kingdom. At the park outside the Houston Zoo. The last was a sleep over Oscars night at 13. Glamour shots red carpet movie ticket invites crafted goody bags while Oscar winning movies ran all night. The girls got no sleep and I was one over worked Southern mom. It was a great blow out. Fed the girls breakfast and sent them home exhausted. Best theme party Evah

Joan Halcomb Dear Joan the food was movie theater fair: hot dogs nachos and pop corn. That was easy, the hard part was staying awake with pre teens. A French toast and smokies breakfast and the joy of sending them home totally exhausted 😩. Daughter helped clean up and I enjoyed my coffee. It was the best party. We lived in a very rural isolated area and it was hard for these kids. The red carpet photo as these girls dressed up like their fav celebrities was a hoot. Twister was the game of choice. It was the talk of the school for weeks. All the girls in her class were invited and came. I would always be on the children's games committee for our company picnics and later became a school Nurse so kids parties were easy for me.

NO goodie bags, no theme other than birthday, just a basic party with friends and CAKE! though we did get the barbie in the cake dress a few times. this was in the 1960-1979. after 10 we only had parties for the "big" numbers, 13, 16, 18 and done.
