I'm Portuguese and it sucks to see how badly Ronaldo is treated by some of our Portuguese players and fans of the team. Without Ronaldo we wouldn't have been seen as a country to be truly feared or just noticed in any football tournament. Over the years how many Euros and World cup tournaments have we been able to qualify for because of Ronaldo dragging us there. Sure there were other players in the team but Ronaldo has always been the main reason why we qualify for tournaments. This squad is the best we've had since 2004-2006 but they lack the mentality of that older team we had back then. This team is way better than the team we had when we won the Euros but the main difference is the team that won the Euros had a stronger mentality and even then without Ronaldo we wouldn't have made it to the final without him. There's currently too many players with ego's in the team who haven't accomplished even a quarter of what Ronaldo has. These players needs to all unite and fight for each other. This team still needs Ronaldo even though he's 38 he's still without a doubt the best striker we have and that's an absolute fact 💯

Here is the problem, Argentinians never say that Messi is old or finished even though he is not playing like he used to play, Argentina is not focused on finding a replacement for Messi, they want to deal with it later once Messi retires. While Portugal is finding a replacement for Ronaldo while he is still playing. Imagine how u would perform when u hear that from every corner that u r finished and old, to be honest in Al Nassr, Cr7 performane is too notch, he is assisting, he is scoring almost every game, he is creating chances for his team. Thats because his teammates dont consider him finished or old or that he cant perform like he used to perform. I think they were unlucky to give away the goal, I think tactically them & Spain were outplayed by Morrocco, I think Dalot was infuriating Ramos & the team with bad crosses, I think when Cancelo & Ronaldo were put on the game improved. And I smell Ref bias with almost all the ref's being from a single nation that was still in Comp a couple penalties should have gone Portugals way, on Felix they actually cut the camera while he was in pain.

This convo of Bruno not crossin to Ronaldo and/or not playing well together is something I noticed when Ronaldo was at united last year, and I felt like I was the only one noticing because nowhere did I see a comment of how sometimes Ronaldo’s teammates avoid crossing or passing to him unless it’s either too late or a forced pass that is very hard to control or shoot properly

I’m a Messi fan but without Ronaldo people wouldn’t be talking about Portugal like we are now. Portugal would’ve been another irrelevant country if Ronaldo wasn’t there. I hope Portugal win the Euros because Ronaldo can have another International Trophy. And although I 100% doubt Portugal will win the World Cup I want them to get as far as possible but they need Ronaldo’s help.
I do disagree here because before Ronaldo we still had Luis Figo, Ballon D’Or winner in year 2000 multiple time la liga winner and champions league winner and one of the best of his generation. And people who knew geography still knew about Portugal.
Ronaldo did a lot for Portugal and elevated us but when Ronaldo first started he has world class players with him innthe national team like Figo and Deco so it is a myth Portugal only started with Ronaldo.
We had Eusebio, we had Luis Figo. Porto won the champions league in 04 because of people like Deco, etc who were Portuguese. Ricardo Carvahlo too one of the best centre backs in the world in his time too and was around before Ronaldo

CR7 is so big that governors of states in Nigeria invite him to the govt house, other sports want to study him and learn from him. Passes to Cristiano seem to be little controlled or let’s say not that effective. While if you see in Al Nassr game ( I’m not comparing but just) they provide him a proper striker passes. They also try to include him in the game, while here i don’t see much of a pass to Cristiano.

It's the best portugal you've ever seen cause you have a Spanish head coach... whether or not that will translate to titles remains to be seen. With Martinez you guys now know how to not just attack or defend... but control the tempo of the game and dominate the ball... making decisions throughout the match as the game progresses and creating chances. Also prob most talented portuguese generation especially from an attacking perspective.
Fernando Santos style was a Greek coach since he lived there many years managed there and even managed the Greece National Team, it worked he pulled the Euro off but now the game changes he had to go.

Portuguese here. I am forever thankful for what he did for our football and he's definitely the greatest Portuguese player ever.
Nevertheless, he's nowhere close of his old self and it's easy for opposite defenses to nullify our attack just by covering him. Against Luxembourg, we had 4 attacking player scoring (Ramos, Felix, Jota and Horta) mainly because our offensive game flows better if there isn't a specific player to pass the ball.

Skillz, gonna tell you a real story, I will avoid saying the hotel name for reasons but this is a 100% true story.
I worked night shift in the best hotel or the area where i live. Bruno Fernandes went there on holidays with his family. During the night his daughter had some sort of medical issue (nothing serious) we called a taxi we arranged everything for her to to the hospital. Bruno stayed sleeping in his room. For a father the most important thing should be his son or daughter. He should've gonna with his wife and daughter (cause you know alone in a different land) to support both but he stayed sleeping at the hotel.
I never liked Bruno as a person something wrong for me about him... but after this situation my opinion of him lowered alot.
So a guy that cares about himself cause sleeping/resting was more important than supporting his family, in his professional life will be even worse cause he is more important than the team. Today he must be happy cause he is the star. Bruno envies Ronaldo and wont perform for him, cause Bruno thinks he is more important than Portugal.
