Try turning your hips more. Imagine you have a chain attached to the side of your hip relative to whichever hand you are about to throw and try imagine turning your hips and swinging the imaginary chain (whip it) towards the target as you throw your punch. Keeping your lead foot planted and your trailing foot in a pivot/twist on the spot motion.
