A lot of the players on South Sudan just recently joined the team, so their still getting use to playing together, understanding their system, and communicating. You can see the issues on the defensive end especially but they should improve overtime. Before the tournament started they added 4 players with NBA experience: Wenyen Gabriel, Carlik Jones, Marial Shayok, Mangok Mathiang and two ex-NCAA stars: Peter Jok and Emmanuel Akot. All of these guys are solid players but none of them had played for the national team before (this was just their second game for the team). So it makes sense that there will be breakdowns defensively.

Some African countries just have pure talent lol. No basketball infrastructure and they still have a team this good. Compared it to Philippines who have been participating in international basketball for a long time and are crazy about basketball, and the Sudan team are probably much better than them now casually. its because these players don't have chemistry. the coaches are very good the problem is that the team that carried us through the Africa cup, most of the plyers were injured. Gabriel and most of the players in this match only had 3 days of playing together before this tournament. that's why the team was off. I wish Australia would have competed against the original line up, they would have been trouble. @@macanthony1982
