Classic - East London railways during the Blitz. Some marvelous shots for the steam enthusiast.

Saw what looked like a Nottingham Corporation trolleybus in one section of the film. Could that be on the G. C.?

More likely, a London Transport trolleybus.

Judging by the truck with "CITY OF NOTTINGHAM" down the side of it and the location of the bridge/signalbox the footage between 2:00 and 3:10 could be somewhere near Arkwright Street/queen's walk on the gcr lines?

@@keithhatton8077 I used the GCR line between Leicester and Nottingham a lot about 60 years ago but I can't place the site. I well remember Arkwright Street Station as a girlfriend lived not far from there. I took my bike on the last DMU from Leicester on the last day of service and rode back to Leicester rather than use the Midland route! I will have to see if I can locate the photos I took as I haven't looked at them for years. Brings back lots of memories! What a wasteful country we live in that demolished a main line designed to go to the Channel Tunnel then spends £45 billion on making HS2 to do the same thing and stops building it so we will only have a HS line from Wembley to Birmingham, at the same time as they are still removing the remains of the GCR route!
