  • Lots of Cybertrucks ready to be shipped out. Plenty of car carriers being load and leaving. New area near Sandhill power plant is having a new gas pipeline installed. South extension same beehive as always.

16:17. Sand Hills power station. Pipeline delivery.
Transmission Towers. A curiosity with the transmission lines that supply power to the Tesla Substation/Switchyard (officially Hornsby Bend), is that they bypass the Sand Hills power station.
The lower lines did provide power to the temporary switchyard/substation.
16:44. Sand Hills power station. Track across from left to right has blocks spaced at regular intervals to support the pipeline as it is assembled.
17:00. Highway bridge. Equipment beyond may be the HDD boring site.

      8:03 Sand Hill pipeline project....
The permit on the Austin site says the pipeline will stay in the right of way....
"Line will run from AE Substation on Fallwell to the west side of 130 then north along the ROW to just north of Tesla Road"
      Two possibilities...
      1) The route will take a jog to the east.
      2) Tesla may have worked out an agreement with TxDOT to use the right of way. In which case we will likely see a HDD rig soon.
17:00 Definitely a job for HDD boring. Unless the pipeline will take a jog to the right and go under the bridge?

Is there a reason for laying single casts on the ground (see 10:39) instead of putting them right away into racks? This seems to create double work; Joe's early morning flight the other day showed that the CT BIW area is supplied with casts in racks. Racks everywhere in fact, which makes sense to use BIW floor space as efficiently as possible. And no shortage of empty racks either, looking at the lay down areas.

    • @DessieDoolan
      @DessieDoolan Před 26 dny

I think they are waiting to be scrapped. Immediately rejected after being cast. Not been trimmed, or machined yet.
2 weeks ago Munro did a video podcast with the IDRA team.
Worth watching the video if only for what is revealed at 39.50.
Immediately that the casting is removed from the giga-press it is checked for 'integrity', then cooled (air or water), then trimmed (de-gated).
The takeaway for me was that any casting seen untrimmed is junk. They don't even bother putting them in racks, as there's plenty of space to leave them outside. This apron area of BIW is often where the large black recycling trailers are parked.

It's an interesting question as to why CT production isn't greater, for sure. The expected release of the range extender has been put off 'infinitely' so there may be battery constraints involved. If they have indeed cracked the dry cathode process then there is no need to expand 'cybercell' production lines.

      20k produced so far.
A month ago, the run rate of CT was at 1400 per week = 75k a year.
