NoChip Dip dipping "wax" is a polymer rather than a wax. That's how we obtain such a shine! We dip our bottles when the dipping "wax" reaches 380 degrees using a Presto deep fryer with an adjustable thermostat. Cheers, Stu

The point of this is that the wine lasts longer on the shelf. As a collector I usually purchase 4 bottles of one type of wine when I feel like it, one to drink within a week to a month or two, one to keep for 5 years, one to keep for 10 years, and one to keep indefinitely.

To continue what I was saying.... I have had pure corks (not the new plastic ones) deteriorate and ruin the wine or completely evaporate the wine, even though they were horizontal and I rotated the bottle every now and then to keep the cork moist. Dry cork, or moist cork, it will still deteriorate. The wax preserves the wine for decades and if re-waxed when needed the wine can last for 100's of years.

@arrowheaddrive I was on their web site signed up and started to shop. Because I'm still in the testing stages I can’t afford to buy lots of wax anyhow after checking out, I saw that the shipping was more than the product itself... Why so high :( there is no option to ship standard postal, "if it fits they will ship it" starts at $4.95. I would love to try this out, the price is good but the shipping is too high.

You don’t need to put small amount of wax on the top and let it cool, the whole point of a cork is to allow a very small amount of oxygen into the bottle over time. By sealing the cork too tightly you suffocate your wine
