My mum married my father when he was poor and had nothing (while she was getting proposals from richer, more "handsome", higher in status men). I’m Ngl, I’m hopelessly envious of my friends who managed to marry in their early twenties, when they were half broke, had nothing to their name. These guys can take comfort in the fact that their wife loved them for who they are, rather than a mechanical analysis of how useful they are in terms of what they can provide. As you go into your late twenties as a man, you have to increase your financial and social status because now, the period of finding someone naturally who loves you for you is gone. Yes I'm sure you can find nice Muslim woman in UK but it's getting hard. Not to mention the families at least in our local community often marry them off to people not suitable. Feminism and similar ideologies have not quite reached small villages in Muslim majority countries to the same extent.

I have to be honest, as a Hijab fan, I agree with Mahdi, high valuable/status man and income is a priority in marriage these days even in so called muslim society. I say this because i had to go through this, i couldn't get married in the UK because i was broke while all my other friends could because they had money, car and a home(mortage) and the amount of bidah in the marriage ceremonies would put the ancient pagans to shame, as you know Islamic knowledge is never questioned when marriage is brought up. However, i had women lining up in Pakistan to marry me even though i was jobless, simply because i was a free ticket for them into the UK as this would raise the woman's status, her family will be like, 'my daughter lives in England now', she has a strong safety net. My status was very high in Pakistan simply because of my British passport and nothing to do with my character/islamic principles. We have the ideal and we have the reality. Brothers are focusing on deen and character but get overlooked for marriage by brothers who (in their observation) have more money, more status, more assertiveness and better looks. So what should they do? They go to places that they believe will give them the qualities that make them more desirable for marriage i.e. some of the elements of Red Pill. Sheikhs, scholars and public speakers quote the Quran and Sunnah in terms of advising brothers of the correct type of character to adopt to make them ideal husbands. But are the sisters adjusting their criteria for marriage in line with this same advice that the brothers are given? Brothers are struggling to get married and so they are going to sources to alleviate this struggle. Therefore, should we be addressing the brothers that are going to these sources to remove the difficulty, or addressing those sisters that have expectations making it difficult for the man to marry them? OR... (my preferred approach) address both men and women. Address the men that aren't owning their responsibilities and address the women that have unrealistic expectations. AND.... address the Sheikhs, scholars and public speakers in regards to them adjusting their approach and providing advice from The Quran and The Sunnah that is better suited for the times and issues we are currently facing.

I have seen half of this video and making this comment: I found problematic the approach br. Mahdi has taken. Actually, he has chosen the red pill over the shariah. I don't know if he realizes that. He was saying that to see the whole picture. By saying this he was referring to what the red pill study has shown and In general what humans desire. But don't he understand that the red pill prescription comes from the study of human desire or their thinking. But the shariah comes from the wisdom of Allah(swt.). If you ask random man in the street whom they prefer to marry, a divorcee or a virgin. Despite what the people have responded to, shariah is true not because of what human thinks or desires rather it's from Allah. The whole picture is "does sharia tell us not to marry a woman who has been divorced three times? Does shariah says those women are evil?" If not then we don't care what does red pill or a study says.

Mahdi has now made it his livelihood and income doing this kind of work. He will find it very hard to leave this lifestyle and from promoting these kind of views which go against Islam. The problem with Mahdi is that he puts too much emphasis on the means then on the success given by Allah in a relationship. No doubt the messenger of Allah told us to tie our camel, but ultimately Allah is the source of success. The problem with red pill is that it has a deficiency with Aqeedah. Why do you think we have salatul istikhaarah is islam? Because, even if the means you have taken point to the fact that an option is 100% perfect or non-perfect, Allah ultimately is the source of success and grants it. Allah can also grant success against all odds even when they appear to be the worst option. Brothers and sisters, focus on your deen, consult Allah and you dont have to worry about anything. It has all been decreed in the preserved tablet. The means is not everything, your relationship with Allah is everything and following his shariah. Take the means (not to the extreme Mahdi proposes), but emphasise your relationship with Allah more. He is the source of success and will not let you down

I’m Ngl, I’m hopelessly envious of my friends who managed to marry in their early twenties, when they were half broke, had nothing to their name. These guys can take comfort in the fact that their wife loved them for who they are, rather than a mechanical analysis of how useful they are in terms of what they can provide.

I have to be honest, as a Hijab fan, I agree with Mahdi, high valuable/status man and income is a priority in marriage these days even in so called muslim society. Its not the sunnah way but hey, thats the way the cookie crumbles.
I say this because i had to go through this, i couldn't get married in the UK because i was broke while all my other friends could because they had money, car and a home(mortage) and the amount of bidah in the marriage ceremonies would put the ancient pagans to shame, as you know Islamic knowledge is never questioned when marriage is brought up. However, i had women lining up in Pakistan to marry me even though i was jobless, simply because i was a free ticket for them into the UK as this would raise the woman's status, her family will be like, 'my daughter lives in England now', she has a strong safety net.
My status was very high in Pakistan simply because of my British passport and nothing to do with my character/islamic principles.

We have the ideal and we have the reality.
Brothers are focusing on deen and character but get overlooked for marriage by brothers who (in their observation) have more money, more status, more assertiveness and better looks.
So what should they do?
They go to places that they believe will give them the qualities that make them more desirable for marriage i.e. some of the elements of Red Pill.
Sheikhs, scholars and public speakers quote the Quran and Sunnah in terms of advising brothers of the correct type of character to adopt to make them ideal husbands.
But are the sisters adjusting their criteria for marriage in line with this same advice that the brothers are given?
Brothers are struggling to get married and so they are going to sources to alleviate this struggle.
Therefore, should we be addressing the brothers that are going to these sources to remove the difficulty, or addressing those sisters that have expectations making it difficult for the man to marry them?
OR... (my preferred approach) address both men and women.
Address the men that aren't owning their responsibilities and address the women that have unrealistic expectations.
AND.... address the Sheikhs, scholars and public speakers in regards to them adjusting their approach and providing advice from The Quran and The Sunnah that is better suited for the times and issues we are currently facing.

I have seen half of this video and making this comment: I found problematic the approach br. Mahdi has taken. Actually, he has chosen the red pill over the shariah. I don't know if he realizes that. He was saying that to see the whole picture. By saying this he was referring to what the red pill study has shown and In general what humans desire. But don't he understand that the red pill prescription comes from the study of human desire or their thinking. But the shariah comes from the wisdom of Allah(swt.). If you ask random man in the street whom they prefer to marry, a divorcee or a virgin. Despite what the people have responded to, shariah is true not because of what human thinks or desires rather it's from Allah. The whole picture is "does sharia tell us not to marry a woman who has been divorced three times? Does shariah says those women are evil?" I think brother Tidjani is describing what he believes to be the reality on the ground.
And brother hijab is describing what the Islamic ideal should be. So for example:
Islamic ideal: marry someone for their piety and character.
Reality: most people marry for looks and Status.
Yeh but if you train the muslim community to the reality and propagate to conform to it, it is a defeatist mentality.
We should be propagating the ideal until it becomes reality, with the use of knowledge.
A reality does not make it right. If one day society was such that the reality became - the only way to get women was to give up your religion completely and chase money (because women now find that attractive) - it doesnt justify us doing and propagating that.
As muslims, we dont conform to the reality just because its reality. We seek to change that with our dawah. Reprogramming minds with islam the the haqq.

The problem with Mahdi is that he puts too much emphasis on the means then on the success given by Allah in a relationship. No doubt the messenger of Allah told us to tie our camel, but ultimately Allah is the source of success. The problem with red pill is that it has a deficiency with Aqeedah.
Why do you think we have salatul istikhaarah is islam? Because, even if the means you have taken point to the fact that an option is 100% perfect or non-perfect, Allah ultimately is the source of success and grants it.
Allah can also grant success against all odds even when they appear to be the worst option.
Brothers and sisters, focus on your deen, consult Allah and you dont have to worry about anything. It has all been decreed in the preserved tablet.
The means is not everything, your relationship with Allah is everything and following his shariah. Take the means (not to the extreme Mahdi proposes), but emphasise your relationship with Allah more. He is the source of success and will not let you down

Character of her husband and his sincerity is the most important for a woman. With regards to financial status on a man, she has the right to marry someone of similar socio/eco status, she has the right to marry someone as similar as possible to her, so its easier to adjust. As men, you should respect that, instead of complaining about it. And, many many woman even compromise on that. What is unattractive: lack of wisdom, lack of kindness, lack of gentleness in speech, being overwhelmed by insecurities, not being aware of the sensibilities of their women, being a workaholic and prioritising money instead of the home.
