One problem for is that the fighters never really felt that unique. In smash, you use sheik for high combos, bowser for big single damage, jigglypuff for aerials. That's when you find your main it feels good. In multiversus, everyone is just hit hit hit, then their special moves, half of which either do no damage or have really long cooldowns for a platform fighter.

How do characters not feel unique? Iron Giant and Batman for example are totally different. Did you just play 2 characters and call it a day?
The characters do feel unique but the combo routes all feel the same for them
This is what happens when you add Banana Guard and the gremlins instead of characters people want like Ben 10, Daffy Duck, Scooby Doo etc
There is people who wants the gremlins ,it’s also a Warner bros classic property and does deserve to have representation in the game

People did want the gremlins over daffy ben and scooby because the time was right bc it was around Halloween and gremlins is a classic and it fits the theme

1. Characters are not locked behind a paywall, everyone can be earned by playing and getting fighter currency. If you played the beta, you get the battle pass and jason for free
2. They fixed the disconnect and crash issues so thats not a problem anymore
3. Its weird that people always use steam charts to determine player count. The game is literally on xbox, playstation, and epic games. Its so easy to get into a game because LOADS of people are still playing

He’s 100% wrong too, it still might die, but right now it’s still really popular with definitely over 50k players on all platforms. Even if 1% or less of those people spend money, that’s enough to keep the game afloat for new updates that will bring back players, like 3 weeks and this guy already declares a game is dead because he stopped playing.

I’m noticing how people have very low tolerance for pay walls now. If you’re gonna lock 90% of your content behind a price tag. People are rarely gonna be interested now.
If the game updated it could def be a lot better. I even planned out a whole road map in my mind where there were events akin to Fortnite’s where the whole game was altered.
For example a pibby event where all the maps and opponents get glitched or a Justice leauge event where you can unlock all the members plus daffy as green lantern/Superman and give him those powers. Basically daffy is unlockable but beating certain stages in the events give him dif dc powers and he’d be op. Also a Batman who laughs one where he becomes a multiversal threat.
If they add Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show into this game I’ll come back😂💯

Nah nothing can kill smash bros because it's Nintendo. The main reason multiversus fail was the lack of content Warner brothers puts into it and The paywall for unlocking the characters, at least in super smash bros you can unlock all the characters by just playing the game. Another reason It fail was because just like similar games like multiversus trying to copy super smash bros just because of other companies want money, Nintendo actually puts love and care into the game, unlike what Warren brothers many other companies did, why are they trying to copy smash bros it's just because for the sake of money.

I personally enjoy the game even if I haven’t played as much as before but man I don’t really think it’s in a good state rn. Especially with stuff like the monetization, though I wouldn’t be surprised if PFG was forced to make the monetization like the way it is because of WB (I mean we all know how Warner Bros can be).

Y'all know they've patched the disconnects now? I agree the character unlock stuff is greedy, but player first games have kinda been the goats for transparency with the player base on everything else. They've already been adding more events that give fighter currency and it's only month 1. And the gameplay has much improved on re-release. Ik it ain't perfect but I hope the game doesn't immediately die, cause the core gameplay Hella fun.

I agree with most of this but there shouldn’t be a comparison between multiversus a okay or maybe even good game and suicide squad a bad game also the only reason there was a lot of talk about suicide squad was because it was bad same way the talk of Velma gave birth to a season 2
They slowed it down , killed the skill ceiling, changed forms and moves, swapped out characters
I used to play the beta with my 7 year old brother because he likes the characters more than Smash. He loved it.
Then I had to explain to him why we couldn’t play anymore. Screw WB.
This had so many potential but WB had to always ruin the fun..
I enjoy this game, but there's three major problems with it that I can't stand. One, the overall lack of characters. Two, most of the characters being locked behind a paywall. Three, the time it takes just to make enough currency to unlock a single character.

I waited a long time for its release and I was dissapointed, lots of bugs and glitches. Superman killed me with a charged punch all across the screen, I was literally on the other side of the scenario and the game feels slow af. R.I.P

Warner bros hardly made use of some of their best IP’s. No one’s gonna really care if 95% of the character line up is DC and looney tunes. Hardly any cartoon network characters and not that many stages. The only semi impressive thing they’ve done was put Lebron James in a platform fighter which seemingly paved the way for literally anyone (owned by Warner bros) to join the roster, though obviously not the case since it’s basically still just DC and looney tunes. This game has serious potential and can still be the smash bros killer, but yeah WB screwed themselves on this one
