Thanks for this! I am using my sim cockpit to teach a friend how to drive sitckshift, and it is much nicer to do this in open environments, versus a track. Vice City's terrain mapping is just too janky to suit the task, too. It's nice to see a concise list of the goodness! Cheers!

Physics in AC can be way better but my Cpu it's pretty old and would have some issues to run them at their best 😅

Most of these look gnarly!!! You couldn't possibly be immersed. Yes, yes, they are passion projects done by usually one person. But my friend's son may draw well for a 5yr old, but it is still not good to look at. That being said, the wicklow mountains mod is pretty good.

My opinion glen sheil is the best online map with tarmac roads and dirt trails, then up the mountain there's snow, plus you can teliport to spwan points on the map ingame, with 18 hidden tracks its massive, plus you can change the colour of your car ingame, Everyone is on there these day's, ive owned it 3 months and still not driven it all

Most of these maps may have been updated and never forget that are Free maps... so it's normal they're not perfect
It would be really heavy for the cpu and ram for them to add alot of details.
The PC gang are so lucky to be able to get these mods. Ifs not as fun on consoles

@@gtk8263 Thank you mate, you helped me a lot with this advice! 🙌💯 Also I recommend you to try the Mitsubishi Evo VIII Time Attack from wixsite and the Nissan Skyline R31 from assettoclub if I remember well, if you didnt try it before. The first car I mentioned is a true fine tuned screaming dragon on the track or road, and the second have a %#^##^ amazing turbo sound with good performance and handling as well. ;)

Number 14 is definitely not called Europe, it's called Hrádek / Liptákov by SimTraxx, originally made for RBR, later ported to AC where it is still being developed. Also it's not an open world map, it is just a bunch of special stages packed to one map with no barriers.

Nice maps except for the "desert" one, it looks really bad. BeamNG has better desert map mods in comparison but that's understandable because AS isn't meant to be offroad.
