The original tape of Rebel Rebel (which had been missing since the mid-1970s), has now been discovered and remastered for this special one-track digital single.
Preceding the album by more than three months, Rebel Rebel peaked at #5 on the official UK singles chart. The original single mix was substituted by the shorter, ‘phased’ US single version in North America, featuring a new arrangement and overdubbed vocals. The album originally peaked at #1 on the official UK album chart and #5 on the Billboard album chart in the US.

i think its more polished, it has the electric guitar in one channel and Bowies 12 string in the other much cleaner than the awful album version

Hell yeah, Diamond Dogs is such an underrated album I'm glad it's getting some respect at least for a day. Honestly, I don't know which mix I like more between this and the regular album one, they're both pretty great.
Lonely Shpee hi. Diamond Dogs is the Bowie album I "cut my teeth"on. I will always love this. Then I went backwards two albums and forward once again. I will die living the life path of David Bowie and how much his music shaped my life. Really💥💙💚💛💜💖🙌

Maybe for me these are two guitars so the last note of the previously riff keep sounding. His musicians often says David was excellent in recording studios as the two voices

The Album that changed everything for a 16 year old kid. Thank you David Bowie.
This is album and song have a very bittersweet meaning to me. Back in 2005, a couple of people I knew were killed in a bomb attack in between this song and "Sweet Thing." I was listening to Diamond Dogs on a CD player with headphones in between patrols. I listened to Bowie alot overseas. It still gives me the chills, RIP Adam and Shine.

This and Fame are superbly recorder tracks. Love the tripping over your feet groove in Fame, whilst Rebel has the sweetest distorted guitar tone and Bowie always employed 1st class Bass players.
I saw essential albums (aka albums you need) and I saw Diamond Dogs on there. I almost screamed in happiness, and I'm 14.
