@@Loreless Well technically, modern East Slavic language - dialect of old Slavic. Ukrainian and Belorussian came from old Slavic, but Russian from Church Slavic. So Russian is the same dialect, we can even assume that it is a dialect of Ukrainian

И насчет русских слов, мой англоязычный товарищ, то их тут завались. У нас, славян, тем более, так назыааемых, восточных славян очень много общих слов. Просто название - "Ïхав козак за Дунай" и "Ехал козак за Дунай", похоже, неправда ли?
