In this video I want to show you how to go from being a beginner snowboarder to a more advanced rider who's hitting jumps and doing snowboard tricks. A lot of people think that you become good at tricks and jumps by snowboarding in the park, but you actually need to develop a strong set of skills outside the park first. I'm going to go through five skills that will improve your riding and get you on the path riding park. - Sport
Last week I landed my first 3 off a jump. This season I have been able to nail my 2 biggest snowboarding dreams a method and a 360. I have to thank you guys at snowboard pro camp so much for the tips. Keep them coming!!!

Sweet vids man, Im just about to start my 3rd season and Im committed to finally master the switch, so I can finally start spinning it off the jumps. I guess your 180 and 360 tutorials will be my guidelines this years. Cheers for that

I really improved my riding this season because of your tips. learned to ride switch, with speed (85 kmph) and best of all carving! thanks Kevin for your tips. hope to see more tips for off season training!
Took your advice on going on different terrains nd it was the best thing for me to do as a beginner! Thanks!!

I love your soudtracks, awesome beats!
This helped me a lot thanx guys now I'm spinning down all the way on hills it is so fun
As a second year boarder, I can say that your videos are great at keep me thinking of technique while I ride. Even though I'm in the Midwest, I have caught the riding bug. I was doing the hill top to bottom in switch this past weekend for my first time so I was stoked on that. Also, I hit like a 10ft gap which was sweet. Can't wait to get out to Colorado soon hopefully, or maybe try to meet up with Kevin and shred it up in B.C. Lol. Jk but Canada is on my bucket list.
Thank you for your tips! Very helpful!
You deserve more views. You always give us quality vids.
I found this so helpful! I've feel confident enough to go on jumps now but its the whole landing but being comfortable when gravity pulls you down and not losing your balance is what I'm trying to work on. I'll be at timberline, so maybe I'll bump into you!
Super Pumped on the vids thanks and keep them coming

Can you do a video on how to boardslide/ 50-50 on pipes? (Like the corrugated ones and the smooth blue ones)
awesome video
Where was this filmed? Just wondering, looks dope!
i learned all of those tricks exept the back side 180 in a week, really easy but the most important tip is that dont go to the park for those tricks exept the slides, try to find hills cause if u fall thier is powder and u wont feell a thing but in park it hurts, also for the 360 first master 270's, then all u need to add is a shifty at the end which counts as a 360 so gl with them tricks
Hey, thanks for uploading these helpful videos. Im a decent snowboarder and can get down black diamonds on the east coast. I really want to know if my form is good so i can get better, but am unable to film myself on the way down the mountain. Do you have any suggestions on how to check my form so i can improve?
Liked and subscribed!
Thanks man I wil try some of these things when im in austria over 2 moths! Can you tell me were you bought that sick beanie?
kevin,
thank you for your videos. I have been a fan for over 2 years now and you have helped me to learn a lot. nice work! keep ripping _mw
awesome video's! i am going to snowboard soon, but did a lot of sliding on downhill long boarding do you think this wil help?@SnowboardProCamp?
Can you talk about ride on the new snow and ripples?
I had difficulty to ride on the ripples.
I agree with this information.
Hey I have been watching your videos and practicing what your showing me and it was smooth first hitting the snow anyways I was wonder if there were any good stretches to do to decrease injury and to become better
FarkelTube Doing stretches is really helpful and will definitely improve your riding. Find some stretches for your hips, hamstrings, shoulders. I'll try to get a pre snowboarding warm up video out this winter.
nice video
I really enjoy all your videos. It is nicely shot and all the topics are useful. keep the good work!
By the way, what board do you use, how stiff is it?
In pretty sure He used a Burton custom with malavita bindings in this vid
Nice video :)
Whats the music in the background please?
Thanks! :D
nice vid, haha and nice music
Great vids. I'm needing help with a jib board. I'm 6'1 and 92kg and had a Live Endeavour 163, but found it too large, then got a Burton Hero 157 which is a lot easier to control, but still not the easiest to flex for jibbing. Thinking about getting a 152 as I think these boards are too large for learning jumps. Would appreciate your thoughts?
Paul MacLeod Hey man, Im 5'9 and ive ridden everything from a 148 - 163 and your gonna get a lot more pop out of a 152 and find it easier to jib but your obviously reducing the surface area on which your standing on, therefore increasing the likelihood of over balancing when trying to land. Just what ive found but try and get a happy medium, maybe 155?
The season is open once again and snowboarders are looking for adrenalin!!
step 1) Learn to ride a snowboard.
I was expecting this to educate people who already know how to ride, carve and do a little air.. Got any tips for us? :)
How long did it take you to get comfortable going off jumps in switch? Was there a method you used to work your way up to doing it?
can you do a miller flip tutorial?
great video! :D i am a beginner in snowboarding.my height is 154 cm..and my board is 143 cm..sometimes i lose my balance while carving.so,i just wondering..do i need a shorter board or i need to practice more?because the board length is same with my nose
What mountain is this ? The terrain is AWESOME
Great videos! I'm a beginner goofy. Should I practice my riding with greater speed and in switched position before learning turns, ollies e.t.c? I could ride pretty well (at least, not fall :) ) on a not well prepared slope. I could ride not so well in switched position. I just learned to do tail press and ollie in movement, I could even switch with jump - but that last three things are very hard for me. The results are not stable at all.
What is the best sequence? Maybe my age (41) is a showstopper? Should I vary a setup of bindings (now it's -9 and +18)? My goal for now is to learn to ride on a high speeds and to do some simple tricks (180 jumps e.t.c) on a slope (not in a park).
Thanx in advance for any advice! ;)
+Danil Shebounin finish practicing your natural stance first, dont do both things at once. once you can ride natural proper then start doing half day switch practice and half day natural, which is the process im in right now. Finally rode my natural down a double black properly, so I started my switch practice.
Ah, switch, my everlasting nemesis, I hate that shit, feels unnatural xD
metalgearbas4 Its not that hard rly i learned to ride switch in like 3 or 4 days
Hey Kevin when and where did you get your jacket from? Know any places I can get a similar one? thanks
SnowboardProCamp Awesome vids man. I'm going snowboarding for the first time in two months, and have previously been an intermediate skateboarder. I was wondering if there are some exercises or routines that i can do to improve balance and core strength prior to this? Thx
my first time snowboarding went pretty well, i got on the board and pretty much instantly got what i had to do (second day ofc i took some lessons, didn't wanna get into some bad habits that would bite me in the ass one day) and i was a crappy skateboarder at the time, i'm guessing you'll be fine ^^ good luck, and have fun bro
Kev Great, but i don't plan on taking lessons though
Would also be cool if you could do hand plants
Hey Kevin,
Quick question, what is a good pole length for an action camera mount? A length like the one you show here looks ideal. I've heard that a ski pole works, but to me it seems like it would be way too long and I'd be more worried of hitting others than focus on riding. Don't know though this will be my first year with a action camera.
Anyways love the videos and great tips for a beginner like me =D
Carlos Montoya The pole that I use is from a plastic paddle for a small inflatable boat. It's wider that a ski pole, which makes it easier to mount the gopro. The length is probably only slightly shorter than a ski pole. A longer pole is good for getting more of your riding into the shot.
How can we do speed checks can you upload a video. Thanks
Binding question - How are your bindings set? I'm trying to get used to riding switch and I already ride a true twin, but I normally have my bindings offset, rear binding at about a 5 and front at a 15...Is this going to make riding switch much harder? Should I adjust to say a 10/10 or a 15/15? Thanks!
my problem is switch ...guess I have that to work on this season
I have a ride Antic snowboard with their "low pro" rocker. I'm finding it hard to do my presses, at least tail presses, and riding switch makes me feel like I did when I was twelve. I can ride any terrain regular and I can go fast, but now that I'm trying to push myself to new levels, I'm wondering how much of it is me, and how much of it is my board. It's an all mountain board.
You should do a half pipe tutorial
I learned really fast cause on my first day I was grinding a little bit but it was stupid because I got hurt a few times
Can someone tell me what song is playing in background? thanks!! and thanks for tutorials procamp!
any tips to minimize damage to your board in the park? eg rails specifically, I have stopped using them due to 2 boards being cut up(chunks out of the face) and will stick to the snow.
get better quality boards. i ride parks everyday REALLY aggressively but my board never have been damaged
What binding angles would you recommend for riding both normal and switch comfortable?
27, 35 in favour of your dominant side, but it also depends on your height, you're local Ski Resort rental people would be the best people to ask for help!
I ride goofy at everything and I'm working on riding regular or switch riding
Hi Kevin I was just wondering if you can give me any pointers on rail designs I'm mean like what would like to board slide on because i was wanting make some rails for practice so thanks please reply.
Hi,
regarding to riding switch a lot and then in the park.
I heard that you might want to set your bindings a bit towards the tail than the nose. will a small change like that can be bad for park riding?
considering the fact that i want to ride all mountain aswell as the park.
+Daniel Cohen Im mainly a park rider and I set my front binding 15 degrees towards the nose and the back binding 15 degrees towards the tail. I told the buddy at the shop I bought my equipment from that I would be trying to ride park asap and he said that having the bindings turned a bit will help with naturally bending your knees and balance in general. I dont really know much about speedy hill riding but if you're doing a bit of both why not try in the 7-13 degree margin to see how it feels :p
I can do all but ride switch ! Well I know what I'm goin for next trip !
I tend to catch edge a lot, and thats mostly why I fall...how can I prevent that?
hey what can i do to keep my hips loose? i keep em tight by accident especially if im doing a icy run or a stressful run
Well i got all of these down, except switch. At least now i know what to focus on
I notice a lot of pressure on my body while i'm on the hit of a jump. Any tips here?
i kinda hate having to learn switch the whole day. because i end up just not caring for it and still hit the jumps lol
I ride at least once a week and just spend 2 or 3 carving runs only riding switch. If I try to do more than that I get the same way. I'll hate doing it and wont spend anytime switch except for after landing switch.
to ride switch, what angle should my back foot be at?
I'm a regular on a snowboard, but I'm just finished learning everything about how to ride it.
I do want to do tricks, but that will be my goal in februari when I go on holiday.
My question is, is it more difficult with your feet to the outside of the board.(I don't know how to explain)
Or when they look at the same point (I have it like that). Because when you try switching, I think I need to let my feed look to the outside. If you understand ahah.
And is your snowboard flat on the snow before the jump and after it? or are you leaning to the side?
josannani100 I'm not sure what your fist question is, but when you jump you do want to take off and land flat. Make sure you have the skills to control your speed quickly on the approach and landing.
I think youre asking how to adjust your binding angle on your board? I think you are set at 0/0... what ever is comfortable for you is fine. I like to have myine set to 9/-9... try all differnt positions till you feel you found what works for you!
Thankyou ! SnowboardProCamp runeski74
yeah that's what I mean ! *****
how specifically do you spray snow. i always try but it never works. am i too light?
Cool
Do I need adjust the binder angel in other foot for switch
Watching this has me all antsy to get on the mountain already
where do you go for snowboarding?
Where did you get that jacket ?
is it bad to buy snowboards from couple seasons ago?
