The NECA Alien Big Chap looks absolutely stunning in 1/4th scale figure form. The sculpt, paint application and details are all quite impressive. Otherwise, thanks once again Spot. I really appreciate the hard work. Keep it up!
I love the original Alien, especially the design of the Big Chap. This figure is amazingly gorgeous.
I purchased the original Alien ( 1979 ) and at the time, it was a beast. A truly beautiful piece. After seeing the movie, I was totally hooked on H.R. Giger work and have since collected most everything from that and the following movies. However, I do agree with you, this is the quintessential Alien figure and the sculpt is almost dead on. Actually, I have quite a few 1/4 inch Aliens. Including the translucent version of which very few were made. All are in their original boxes and in perfect condition. I am most proud of the 1/12 Alien Queen. I have Ripley in the Loader taking in the Queen. It really is a beautiful work of art.
What goes on the minds of men when they design or draw such works of art. H.R. Giger was a genius and his Alien is proof of it. I know Alien is meant too scare, intimate, frighten people, but looking at it from an artist point of view you start to see his genius. And the movie did scare me. It was an awful bloody mess when that chest burster first entered the world. The actors, particularly Veronica Cartwright's reation was truly a tear jerker. One person, not at my showing, but the next showing had a heart attack and nearly died in the theatre.it was believable and even the actors were kept the dark until the exact moment. Even today, with all the CG, Alien measures up and still frightens the heck out of audience's.
One last thing. If we think or believe we're alone in this universe, think again. Such a creature could actually exist and maybe H.R. Giger predicted its coming. Just has Jules Verne predicted so many fantastic realities. And if it comes to pass Alien comes to earth, we're done.........

Got this last week and am in love with it's details! The paint work is awesome and has one of the most accurate domes I have ever seen. I also want to point out the retro styled box Art as well. I have always wanted the 1979 original Alien figure but honestly I just cannot afford the price tag! This figure by NECA gives me better quality, better details and the box let's me emotionally feel like I do have a bit of 70's tie in that I missed when my parents said no back in the day. LOL

This is just plain awesomeness. Really like this alien the texture, smell, detail and sound he makes when you move him. Might be my favorite alien from Neca. I can't wait to see what is in store for 2020. Keep it up Spot you're the best.
I bought the same exact figure just recently. Itâs so cool looking. Do big with so much detail. And I find it quite interesting how the based it on the actual costume that was worn in the film.

Beautiful figure, Neca are pretty good at making figures and when it comes to Alien figures, Neca are just as good as Hot Toys.
Not quite. The QC of this release is very poor. Had 2 of these. Both had serious flaws.

He looks very good. I wish he was 1/6 scale as 22 inch tall is too big for me to put anywhere. I was so disappointed when I saw Hot Toys used tiny rubber parts for the ligaments of the jaw on their 1/6 scale. Where I live there is always huge swings of hot and cold/ dry and humid weather and that kind of rubber just rot away in no time. I decided not to get it because of that.
In the Alan Dean Foster novelization of alien they never really described what the creature looks like completely I loved how the use the word apparition.

I bought something that looks a lot like this years ago. The pipes even went on the back like this one. Its pretty heavy, solid plastic but for some reason it just fell apart at its sockets. I still have it. Im curious how similar this one is to the one I have. I see a few differences like the leg hinges. The one I have uses a ball/socket joint thats pinned.

I believe in earlier concepts of the xenomorph h r Giger wanted you to be able to see through it to a certain extent, later on he made the alien from species see-through completely

You will need to get a stand for it in order to display this figure. I had mine displayed in standing position for 2 months before the legs warped and bowed and it fell over. This figure is very heavy and the legs cannot support the weight. The shins literally bowed out under just the static weight. Am trying to bend them back to straight.

Iâve seen the Harley Quinn figure thatâs silicone I believe is in 1:3 1:2 scale or something. It would be incredible to have a Ripley figure or Dallas or Kane or anybody. Itâs a shame why Necca doesnât do more of the Nostromo Crew like Brett, Lambert etc etc in 1:4 scale

So one small detail Iâve noticed because I have all 1/4 scale editions of the big chap is that they didnât paint the toenails on this one in silver. The other versions have this detail, but the 40th anniversary does not. Anyone have an idea as to why that might be? Just curious. I would think that the silver toenails would be more accurate.

I've had serious QC issues with this release. Had two and both had huge ugly marks on the visors. Bought both from different suppliers and both times same issue. Serious QC failure at Neca. Returned them both. Won't attempt a 3rd time so very disappointed by this as such a huge fan of tge film series. Oh well, I guess Hot Toys it is.

The inner jaw on mine is really loose, flies out when the mouth is open, and extends out really far. I donât think itâs supposed to be like that :\
Few are sadly like that (heard). Try using a small amount of blue tac and hide it inside. Should be enough. đ
Don't worry, mine does that too.

How come the 40th 7in amd 1/4 scale are different sculpt and not the same the 7inch has details on elbows and hind legs that the 1/4 scale doesnât kinda makes for inconsistencies
