Thanks for your experience and resources and sharing your project and the process methods and materials you use to complete your out standing work. God-bless.

To help prevent your scrap piece from sticking to the repair, you have some other options as well.
    1. Use wax paper between the repair and your scrap clamping board.
    2. Keep some scrap melamine for projects like this. The glue will not stick to the melamine, and you won't need the wax paper.
    Hope this helps.

Hey wanted to watch h the vjdeo...but tbh the audio needs adjustments. When you're talking it's too low then I turn it up and then the music comes on when your not talking and it's way too loud. I have to keep adjusting my volume. So no disrespect.. just wanted to let you know for future videos. 😉

Hello, thanks for the feed back. I’m still trying to learn all the features of iMovie and tricks of editing. Definitely an art to it! I’m not sure if i can edit the video once it’s uploaded to you tube but I’ll give it a shot, I didn’t spend the time making the video to not have anymore hear it clearly !

@@girl-reinventing absolutely. My husband has done some videos but he does the audio afterwards and then puts it in. I hope you can work it out...I'll be watching for more videos. Good luck 👍 😊

I just turned the volume down and followed the transciption at the bottom of the video description area. The transcription was helpful to go back and re-read the instructions as needed.

Carpenter syringe looks like a horse deworming tube to me 😅.
I have a lovely old chest that has merely one piece of veneer only lightly warped.
What you're tackling here is impressive to me! I would have never thought that piece fixable. Amazing! ❤

I have a whole bedroom set of that waterfall style... my great grandma bought it about 1925. It's in almost perfect shape.

@@girl-reinventingEven tho mine is in good shape, it has no inlays and the wood is not interesting at all.I think it wasn't the deluxe version. However, if Grandma were here I think she wouldn't mind if i painted it and used some decoupage on it. She was an adventurous girl. I remember her taaking me to Pismo beach when i was a girl and dancing on the beach in a seaweed hula skirt. 😍😁

Well I certainly valued the craftsmanship, it was really fun to find all that beautiful wood under ages of yuk. It went off to live on in someone else’s home. I actually have another similar piece waiting in my basement for me ( and motivation! )

What type of nail gun did you use and are the carpenter glue syringe reusable?

    • @girl-reinventing
      @girl-reinventing  Před 2 lety

Glue syringe is reusable for a few times then if you don’t wash it out it gets gunked up, comes in a 3 pack. DeWalt 18 GA Brad nailer. Probably overkill for my smaller furniture projects like this one but it’s what we’ve got!

I’m going to offer constructive criticism so hopefully it will be received as such. Do not want to see anyone offering good information not do well.
Maybe I’m just cranky and impatient today, but your intro slow and rambling, then when you did get going…That music. No. Just…why? Just demonstrate and explain in your own capable way and it’s fine. The music really detracted and was annoying. What is the deal with people playing music in a diy video? The only time it feels appropriate response there is a time-lapse kind of thing and sped-up action is accompanied by music but even then it’s not a bad thing to just let us focus quietly on the actions.
OK I’m sorry that turned into a rant!
