- Jun.27 -- Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chief executive officer of Mubadala Investment Company and chairman of Manchester City Football Club, discusses the soccer club's success, Abu Dhabi's efforts to diversify from an oil economy, the Iran nuclear deal and his relationship with Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince. He speaks on the latest episode of "The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations," taped May 9.
A wonderful and articulate man. We’re so lucky to have him as the driving force behind the football team I’ve supported ( Manchester City) for over fifty years.
Peter Muller True that! :)
I first saw City 50 years ago at the FA Cup final but wasn''t a supporter until 5 years ago, About 20 years ago I decided not to watch men's football again, as I thought it wasn't the game that I was brought up watching and had deteriorated in ethical considerations. I began to watch women only and as my old team (Leeds) no longer had one, I chose Man City as they seemed to offer the best conditions and facilities to raise the standard. I was correct.

Followed city 50 years only getting better loving it our owner is a legend
@@alecjohnson5269what they’ve done with our club is truly remarkable. When they first took over there was no set strategy on how to do it and very few examples before them so they had to go through so much trial and error but they never gave up on us and kept investing without hesitation. Not just investing in the football club but building up the infrastructure and boosting up the community around the Etihad. I will forever be grateful for everything they’ve done for us
The clarity of mind of Mr.Khaldoon is impressive!
Jonathan Carlos Piña all billionaires have this clarity
Wonder why 😂
I was a classmate of Khaldoun's in France. I remember the day his father was assassinated. Khaldoun was very popular and one of the nicest kids in the class. Generous and humble.
Wow... that's interesting
Well your chatting shit he just clearly said he was in Abu Dhabi at the time lmfao shut the fuck up 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Jasonfoy25 Being his class mate and remembering the day his father was assassinated are 2 separate things
Shadow Rundown lol yeah i was gonna say that
How was he popular when he 6 years old?
David Rubenstein is a superb interviewer. The amount of ground he covers in less than 30 minutes, without feeling rushed, is fantastic. Good range of guests & peers. I greatly appreciate shows like this being freely available to the public. Substance and goodwill, without dramatics or conflict. Thank you!
Rashid Kapadia Right.. He is excellent
Well said Mr. Rashid. Inshallah
You've hit the nail on the head. They feel very educative and yet very peaceful. You can also tell that he's a very curious person.
Agreed. I also think what helps him accomplish this is the fact that his guests are extremely articulate and do not need a lot of words to explain their thoughts precisely. Them being apolitical and devoid of agenda plays a huge role in this as well.
You are so right, sir.
The intellect of Khaldoon is incredible, I genuinely never realised how highly positioned and regarded he was.
Mr Khaldoon Al Mubarak is a class act.
I am a huge fan of these interviews :D ...
I'm a lifelong City fan and we have been so fortunate to have been bought and owned by this group of astute, intelligent, respectful and dignified people.
They have delivered on every single promise that they made to the club and fans and so much more and continue to grow our club and success far beyond anything we believed was possible.
I hope they stay with us forever.
Thank you Sheik Mansour, Khaldoon Al Mubarak and the rest of the Abu Dhabi United Group and everyone involved in the success of our Club.
You guys need to win the champion league..
@@abdulmohsenalmuhanna9720 and they won it 10 days ago😂😂
I love how David Rubenstein interviewed some extraordinary people, but I never seen him did that carefully like this...it mean this men (Khaldoon) have something that other extraordinary people don't...What a great man
Al Mubarak is chairman of man city. He also works in coperations and manages a company then added to that he is also a government official. This guy is literally a living superman
I need to watch more videos on Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
I don't even understand nor I have interest about the topic, and here I am now here, listening to him. Very articulative. You can listen a person like him for hours. Very pleasingly articulative talk. So proud and fortunate to have him as a CEO of City Football Group.
the man speaks better than anyone could in english
Yh, his accent is so blunt
Most foreign people do. Myself included
@@ZiloBalo wasn't a complaint against anyone orther than my fellow english speaking friends who can't put 1 sentence together without using rude words etc ..thats what i meant by my post ..i appologise if you thought i was being insulting to all nations and races who speak perfect english
@@leedavies4589 no not at all. I think most foreign people tend to use better grammar, perhaps not have the English accent, but put more effort in to speaking the language well. That's all
@@ZiloBalo i think alot of so called foreign people speak ..(the Queens ) English better than alot of English people do ..our manners are declining rapidly so sad :(

how do you feel about how the UAE treats immigrants from countries like egypt? genuine question
@@dodonnell-ze9yc first off UAE does not allow immigration regardless of nationality, we are all expats here and can only stay in the country providing we have a job offer, secondly I don't see any differentiation between Egyptians or non Egyptians when it comes to living here, I've been living in Dubai for 15 years and I can say it's mostly a positive experience, hope that helps

@@frysalomar2965 On the contrary, i love how he said it
Since Pep became manage of Manchester City he's spent a bit less that Klopp at Liverpool (£530 million - £600 million)
Pep has won: Premier League: 2017-18, 2018-19[219]
FA Cup: 2018-19
EFL Cup: 2017-18, 2018-19
FA Community Shield: 2018
at City and
Klopp has won..........
you do the maths!
Don't be stupid, Klopp has sold big to fund those transfers- 140 million on Coutinho. And your overall spend figures for Klopp are fake. He has not spent anywhere near 600m. Don't know where you got that from. Pep also inherited a much better squad with a core of top players inherited from Mancini.
@@nobad6134 Just do a quick google search. Klopp has spent 600 million since he took over. It doesn't matter what money came in..City have a massive turnover.....Klopp has still spent a fortune to win possibly ONE trophy tomorrow. In the last ten years Liverpool have spent desperately to try and win trophies...yet it's City that get accused of "buying" trophies. At least City are good at it!!
You are very right. It matters how you spend the money. As long as you don't break any rulles I don't see where is the problem. Every team who wants to be top must make some investments. Now the question is how you make them. Like liverpool with Andy Caroll (41 M) or like City with Aguero (40 M) both in 2011. The thing is that City have spent much more on infrastructure to be sure that in the future years they have players raised in their academy but of course no one thinks of that. City is not PSG that's for sure.
Liverpool generated the funds by selling many players such as countinho, benteke, ibe, sakho, solanke, ings etc.
