It was great being on the show. Thanks for having me Andrew
you're welcome Paul!
It's it 2 years on the temporary residence permit plus one year on the permanent residence permit until citizenship or 2+3?
@@jacobhayes7552 after three years of permanent residence, you may be eligible for Paraguayan citizenship. However, this means you have to spend more than 1 day per year in Paraguay so plan accordingly.
@@andrewfromremotetribeno dual citizenship allowed though, except for Italy or Spain passport holders afaik
@DroogOz is it true that Paraguay doesn't allow dual citizenship as per the comment below? first time I hear this!
Very good value, thanks for so much practical info. It's good to see another Australian who escaped prison island.
you're welcome. happy you enjoyed it.we put a lot of effort to bring this kind of guests. regarding the prison island, good for him! :)
@DroogOZ Asuncion versus Ciudad del Este? Particularly for an expat Gringo? I love me some verdant ranch not too far from Igazu but do not want to be completely disconnected from the world. Any news about direct flights to & from USA, say Miami -- there appears to be cargo flights but neither of the 2 cities' airports offer flights beyond Panama and Madrid.
I also hear that the area across the river south of Remansito is getting developed with a couple new modern & architecturally significant bridges being added. Thoughts of that area as far as real estate investments?
at 14:59 Paul says that there is no minimum stay requirement for the temporary residency, and he goes on to say you can leave and come back before the 2 years to request the permanent residency. Is that so? I understood that there is a minimum of 1 day a year for the first 2 years.
Yes, you are correct, One day per year for the first two years. Some of our clients can't make it back to Paraguay due to exceptional
Or mitigating circumstances. And we legally provide them with governement approved exemptions.
You are right! The temporary Paraguayan residency visa is initially issued for 2 years. 1 year of permanent residence. Then you are able to apply for citizenship after 3 years.
The citizenship is almost unobtainable people lead you to believe you can get it you can't, I have lived in Paraguay 4 years.
👍🏾
I have a question about the PR after the temporary resident phase.
Since I am still living outside PY, I worry about the maintenance requirements of the PR.
If I fail to keep 1 day of staying in PY per year, will my PR be canceled immediately? or any grace period.
Im very interested in obtaining a secondary and tertiary passport if possible.Paraguay and Uruguay are on my list for South America.Asia is next.
congrats! a smart move. please get in touch with Paul and go through free consultation. Nothing to loose! calendly.com/planbparaguay/plan-b-paraguay-residency-remote-tribe
Forget about Asia buddy 😉
@@reflexologista indeed, getting residencies and passports in Asia is very difficult
@@reflexologista No offense, but no, I won't be doing that. I plan to have locations everywhere. Africa, South America, Europe, and Asia as well. Why would you limit yourself to all possibilities?
Is it possible to apply for residency and or get a bank account in Paraguay remotely? I am a Canadian citizen.
Is it possible to get Paraguayan passport as second if you're not a citizen of Spain/Italy?
Yes it is and I know many that have dual nationality with PY.
Is it possible to get a Paraguayan passport as second if you're not a citizen of Spain/Italy?
Yes
My wife and I are expats in Colombia. What city would you recommend for expats in Paraguay ?
For now, it's just the capital ,Assuncion. The other towns are way too small and maybe too quiet. Start from there. We've had another show about life in Paraguay here: czcams.com/video/xtyMRRBPZOg/video.html
If you’re US you won’t get the tax advantages unless you renounce. Getting a visa is a pain and it will take 6-8 months to get your visa interview, but once you get it. You’re good for 10 yrs and can come and go as you please as long as you’re not in the U.S. longer than 6 months. So you’re only away from your family a year at the most.
correct. thanks for the added details
Just wait until you find out how much, this guy charges!! You will realize that you are financing his lifestyle in Paraguay,
How much does he charge ca.?
Over $3500.00 USD for his package that's about 3 months working full time, 40 hours a week for a lawyer in Paraguay@@WolfF2022
Damn. That's disappointing.
@@nicolelouis8968 I recommend you Bettina Mueller, she charges a fair sum.
Michael you hit the nail right on the head, that's the game/scam you need to watch out for, with a little research and boots on the ground you can find, like I did an honest, reputable with prior customer references person with several years experience. Its not easy but doable.@@Michael-iw3ek

American here. Which countries will accept me with a criminal record? Where can I go for political asylum?
