    Helpful hint with Dysons and stairs - except for the Outsize. The cleaner head is the perfect size for stair treads and you don't even need to use the mini motorized head unless you want to do a really careful, detailed job. And of course, the full-sized head is much faster than the mini.

    Here in the Netherlands we got different configurations from dyson. All models have gotten a facelift with the 'extra' added and because of that they all have removable batteries. We got the Torque drive, the animal and the absolute but we don't get the outsize. The animal is the same price as the torque drive but the animal gets an extra apolstery attachment (both got the mini turbo) but the motorhead brush instead of the torque drive (and all of the v11 get lcd's). We also get the absolute in the Netherlands wich has the fluffy roller. And we have a v11 pro wich is bacically an absolute package with an extra battery and extra floor dock if you don't want to hang the thing. Cheers

    I'm speculating here: but if Dyson has more-or-less discontinued their hardwood "fluffy-head" for the V11 series, then I'm guessing that it's because they don't want to cannibalize their future sales. Meaning, I suspect that the V12 -- or whatever it's going to be called -- has some form of 'fluffy-head' or alternative purpose-built floor cleaner. They won't want the V12s to compete for sales with the V11s.

    • @claiireowens
      @claiireowens Před 3 lety +3

      Bet they’ll make a duo head for the 12

    • @TROOPERfarcry
      @TROOPERfarcry Před 3 lety

      @@claiireowens Maybe. I think they'll just offer the standard "fluffy-head", and have only minor boosts to battery longevity. They're already reaching close to a theoretical limit on suction given that a machine can't "suck" harder than the atmospheric pressure allows. New gains in that area might be very, very small, so boosting battery life and offering a 'fluffy-head' might be the only incentive that they can offer prospective customers to either buy a V12 versus a V11, or bump up to the V12 if they already own a V11.
      -
      I hope that future developments focus on how loud the units are as well. I have the Pet Pro 2 -- the last upright unit that plugs into the wall that Dyson made or will ever make again -- and it's great. I clean out the debris-bin, I vacuum, and there's all this gray fluff in the bin again... like the unit is manufacturing it on the inside or something. But Lord.... *it's so dang **_LOUD._* I -- no joke -- wear hearing protection to use it.

    1. I'm pretty sure that Dyson offers models with both torque drive and soft roller in every country but the USA. We have them in Poland too.

The only difference here is that V11 Absolute Extra Pro (I know, that name, right?) has two of them and Absolute Extra, Animal Extra and Torque Drive Extra have one of them. On the other hand most countries (like mine, which is Poland) don't have Outsize model, which would probably be too expensive anyway.

    The problem with these dysons.. Well.. I've had a Dyson 10 for a few years now, and the mouth piece stops spinning after some time... I got one replaced from dyson them selves, and after a few months, again, the cylinder-thing stops spinning all the time.. which makes the vacum cleaner completely useless... I wouldn't really recommend a dyson because of this

      Interesting. I've had a V8 and that's never occurred in 5 years of use. But I think I've heard this issue mentioned elsewhere.

    (Blue edition = around 240 Air Watts. Around 800 Euro's) (Gold edition = 610 Air Watts. Thousend Euro's)
    To be honest, i never even heard of these 3 you showed.

    Quick correction: you accidentally swapped the values for Unsealed Suction between the Animal and Torque Drive on your graphic. The correct values can be seen in the shot with the spreadsheet.

    V11 Outsize absolute you can hardly get a hold of any more in the UK. It looks like they have discontinued it so that you automatically go for the V15 or Gen5 series. V11 outsize absolute was a great 'in between' model. But to me it looks like Dyson have seen to that! :(

    "V11: which is best bang for the buck?"
    Neither. They are by definition top of the line with extra features that don't justify extra price for 90% of users. They are not designed with value in mind. You can buy vacuum that will do 90% of what V11 can for half of the price.
