    Thanks for reminding me. I bought the hardcover Penguin UK version in 64. Great Baldwin essay, and fine photography. I was reminded after seeing THe Help yesterday. I think it was Alison Janney who said in an interview," we could hardly use the full name of the Daughters of America!" I gave the book away a few years ago, and checked its current paperback value, $100. So this reminder is timely. Thanks.

    Thank you so very much for providing the opportunity to see these incredible photographs. I wish I could read Baldwin's text as well. The book is so expensive that I would not be able to purchase it, so your sharing was very important. I hope many more people will view your contribution!

    I think this one of the most important collaborations. The words of Baldwin are as important to the images- wish we could have you read us the words; Thank you for sharing - now to find the words of those who've gone before.

    imagine what Baldwin and Avedon would say,see, speak to 2020 - this work still holds the truth. A candle of vision and heart.
