  • I went out with Syndicate 2, based in South London, for a late turn shift. We repsonded to incidents, chased suspects, detained a male on a moped who was found with a large knife in his wasteband, pulled over vehicles and found a stolen car! A really really insightful and enjoyable experience!
    My massive thanks to the officers I was with, who were very accomodating and answered the questions I had, let me film and photograph most parts and showed me what they're role entails. Thank you guys, you are all awesome!
    Note: Efforts have been made to edit out conversations and sensitive info. A few parts of the video, especially in the begining, I was unfortunately unable to blur plates out - but efforts were made to do such.

    Great video getting to ride along with this Specialist Team and nice to see they are driving as they were taught on their Training Course!

      Actually they are NOT..Look at Blue Light Aware

      Arguably this is slower. I serve in the same force and many blue light runs are at higher speed. Of course it's proportionate to the offence and the traffic, road, visibility and weather conditions but the first driver seemed slow to me.

      I’d say the first bit of convoy driving they could’ve been a bit more together at the junctions. In together out together. Left the second car vulnerable as nobody ever sees the second car. You can even hear the second car driver say this is supposed to be a convoy.

    I feel asleep half way... are those the only two units in half the City?

    • @thefiestaguy8831
      @thefiestaguy8831 Před 6 měsíci

      These are VCTF units.
      The are still borough response officers that cover each of the respective boroughs. VCTF are assigned to a "set area" i.e South and can be deployed to any of the south boroughs from wherever they are. They can also decide to assign themselves to a call if they feel it is suitable or in their remit.

  • @guy4469
    @guy4469 Před 4 měsíci +1

    they must have units closer you cant report a crime and they say give us 45 minutes ,

  • @jacklinden780
    @jacklinden780 Před 8 měsíci +2

    Very... Intriguing... 9 mns to get to call? Coz obviously they are not chasing anyone.. Seriously? What's the point?
    Same on the second segment... Rule of thumb in AC work is "Run Silent, Run Deep"... No point in running code to supposedly intercept a suspect vehicle if you are not in pursuit yourself in the first place.
    Or are the contexts not properly described/understood by the author?

    • @thefiestaguy8831
      @thefiestaguy8831 Před 6 měsíci +3

      "Running code"...
      Are you American by any chance?
      The driving standards over here in terms of policing are MUCH higher than they are in the USA. Most police drivers won't get a driving course until they have been a police officer for several years. The average wait time in this force was around 7-8 years although it has come down recently due to an uplift in driving courses.
      I serve in the same force and believe me most officers would do the same. If you're chasing someone on foot or looking for outstanding suspects involved in a serious or violent crime then it's better to have more officers present than not, especially for containment reasons.

      BMW 5 series. Estate/Station wagon

    • @thefiestaguy8831
      @thefiestaguy8831 Před 6 měsíci

      5 series isn't an "estate" or a "station wagon".
      A 5 series is an SUV... also called "4x4".
      These have been phased out for the most part by the Met and are being replaced with Volvo XC90's and Volvo V90's for borough area cars.@@Paul-mf1vj

    What all UK need is more 'punishing feels' punishment for such delinquents, tougher stance on Crime, means tougher police force.

    How is the Met police supposed to stop cop killers if the cop killers keep killing armed response teams?
    They should just give up as their armed units will be outnumbered and outmatched

    Seems to be a video about police speeding to situations but never arriving on time! Great jolly for the officers but total waste of tax payers money.

      @thefiestaguy8831 Před 6 měsíci +3

      It would help if you knew what you were talking about.
      These are VCTF officers... they don't attend domestics, RTC's, shop thefts, burglaries, etc.
      These officers are a specialist unit deployed to cover "south area" which is numerous boroughs to ASSIST response team borough officers.
      In the calls they "never got to" there will already have been numerous borough officers on duty in that area on each shift. These are NOT "response officers". VCTF was primarily formed to combat violent crime, not your everyday "volume crime" that response team borough officers would deal with.
      VCTF help out if they can - if a suspect's made off they'll go and help look for them, especially if the offence is serious or involves violence, sometimes assisting and putting a containment in often leads to captured of the offender. I can recall this being the case on numerous ocassions including one lad on a moped who in the space of 90 minutes committed 11 knifepoint robberies. He came back to the area after leaving and tried to "goad us" into chasing him, which we did. He snuck down an alleyway on a moped and the officers were unable to pursue him in their car.
      Instead of trying to make off further he decided to ditch his moped in a rear garage area and hide in someone's front garden, hoping the officers would give up searching for him and he could walk away scot free. As it transpired he was found hiding in a front garden in the pitch black on a road which had an officer stood either end of on a containment. Had the containment not have been put in place he would likely never have been found.
      These officers are paid whether they go to 0 calls in a day, or go to 10 calls in a day. In the same way i'm paid the same as a borough officer if I sit at hospital all day with a prisoner or run ragged going to calls.
