You know they are great when a live performance sounds like a recording. ❤😂😂😂

I don't agree with most Dream Theater fans either. I really love the lead singers voice!!!

Great reaction Biz. You have Transatlantic and Dream Theater lined up from me. Looking forward to both.

I would recommend Illumination Theory, Breaking All Illusions, Both live versions, Octavarium and Count of Tuscany

Biz: They occupy their own space. Some of their albums are brutally heavy, some orchestral and grand, some extremely catchy (even with the lethal musicianship), some gloriously obtuse. And sometimes all of these in one song - lol! But it's always ummistakeably them. I usually pick which DT to play by my mood.

Really recommend Breaking All Illusions from the same album as Outcry!!!

The lyrics to 'Outcry' were apparently written about the Arab springs uprisings in Libya, Egypt, Syria... where the people rose up in masses and overthrew their authoritarian rulers in 2010 who had lorded over them unchallenged for decades in some cases... other devolving into civil war. Conspiracy theorists blame US pawnbrokers in the CIA or orchestrating, fueling & organizing those uprisings... but the USA does not have the power or resources to change the course of the destiny of nations - the Iraq and Afghanistan debacles r proof of that.
People like to complain about James LaBrie on vocals, but he is easily one of the most powerful live singers and one of the few who can match the musical power of Dream Theater... The band's musicians r very proactive w/ jamming together and creating music.
Some more Dream Theater live performances that can be checked out - 'Constant motion' ... 'Forsaken' ... 'Peruvian skies' ... 'This dying soul' ... 'Bridges in the sky'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥

Powerful song! DT is my 2nd favorite band behind VH.
James' voice has just eroded over the years. Like many singers, they can't hit the notes they used to!
James is the ONLY singer for DT.
