Here's the thing. A sausage roll in the UK doesn't have an actual sausage in it! It's sausage meat (the insides of a sausage, without the casing if you like. But they don't go around disecting sausages to remove the filling, the sausage meat is made separately) wrapped in pastry, not bread. What you had was just a sausage in a roll, or perhaps a glorified hot dog to you Americanos! 😁
There is an outdoor park similar to Disney Land here, and after the highlands, you should try to stay at Sunway Lagoon. There is also a major water park, a wildlife park, and a pyramid mall, which will make you feel like you're in Las Vegas, it not far from KL city

Self check in machines are common in Japan! Good to hear Malaysia has it too now!! It's so convenient. Some places I've stayed at doesn't require me to speak to any receptionist. LOL. I only go to reception to get coin change for the washing machine and dryer. LOL😅😂

I would enjoy the outdoor vs indoor. No outdoor steamboat or bbq buffet to enjoy the cold cloud beautiful nature view & feel the chilling air outside while eating.
I was here in November and it took 90 minutes to find the car park entrance 😂😂. We went into some weird areas of Genting!

The prices is basically 20 to 30% more expensive than KL. due to logistics.
Yeah, I felt same. Taxi to everywhere, good to go with your own car makes it a lot cheaper than going around with taxis all the time.
