- Join us as we explore the City of Gadsden in Etowah County! We'll begin as always by exploring the Historic Downtown, before heading to the riverfront to enjoy several parks that Gadsden has along the water. Afterwards, we'll discover one of Alabama's most iconic natural wonders, Noccalula Falls. Finally, we'll take in a movie under the stars at the Sand Mountain Twin Drive-In.
Gadsden was a lot of fun to experience, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Thanks for watching Sparks of Discovery!
I’m from Gadsden. Loves growing up there.
My dad was born there and grandparents lived there till they past in the last 70s still have a few family members that still live there. I remember watching Santa came in on boat off the river back in the 70s lol great memories in Gadsden ✌
Awesome! Thanks for watching!
I grew up there. Couldnt wait to leave.
Me too, wish I was back
Just moved into Etowah the bottom southwest outside Altoona. I've been to Gadsden but haven't got to explore it , I've heard horror stories and good ones y'all helped keep hope alive.
Thanks for watching!
I am considering moving to Gadsden from Minnesota. I'm tired of our -65 below with windchill winters. Gadsden looks beautiful.
We totally understand, Gadsden is a beautiful place and so unique.
As a Gadsden resident I would suggest Noccalula Mountain, Southside, Rainbow City or Hokes Bluff. Those are probably the nicest places in that order
That was true even in 1965 when I left Alabama forever. LOL@@dangerousdylan6262
I grew up there. I have good memories there. My brother still there. It's an excellent place to raise kids and retire. The economy suffered with the closure of Goodyear and The Steele Plant.
My grandmother and father were from here. Never been here❤
ok i am here - JamWayne brought me here - he is a new Star from Gadsden, Ala´ Country u know - Dear Mister JamWAyne , Sir
This same county was where that one season of 60 days in was recorded.
Great production value of all your videos!
Thank you so much!
Great grandfather was william perry george
I like here very nice place Great people too 🤠
Outstanding Video! So creative and a thoughtful presentation! Got to head to Gadsden tomorrow to eat more of that Black Stone Pizza! Really! Thanks!
Thank you so much, we really appreciate it!
Man I never knew there was a dog park near the mall
It’s really nice, lots of shade and room to play!
Great video! Really enjoyed the presentation!
Thank you so much! We’re glad you enjoyed it!!
Y’all did about everything that I would recommend to new visitors here, although seems as if you missed out on Hinds road near the falls. It’s a supposedly haunted road where a witch lived back in the day and there’s stories about it online to read up on but it would be a nice edition next trip here if you have a vehicle that can go on rougher gravel roads.
That sounds neat! Thank for watching!
It was the old Clayton family mill not a witch do some research
@@stevenreid6054 Alot of storys about the hinds road witch and videos i live very close to it near noccalula falls
I used to live on Hinds Road in Gadsden. It ain't haunted, except by meth heads.
@stevenreid6054 I grew up in Gadsden and I've always heard the witch story lol
Saldy the petting zoo at nocculula falls burnt down not to long ago, however luckly the outside animals survived😢
Sand mountain drive in is in Boaz which is also in a different county as well
The drive-in was located in Etowah County and was south of Boaz outside of the city limits. We wanted to include it because we thought it was a nice ending to the video, even though it wasn’t technically in Gadsden. Doesn’t matter now, as it closed not long after the video was released.
I was just at Nocalulla this afternoon!
Jealous! Bet it was really pretty today!
@@SparksofDiscovery it’s always nice up there. Strange.
My hometown.
Do you do your own drone videos? If so what drone are you using, videos are great.
Thank you! Yes, we have a DJI Mavic Air 2 that we take with us everywhere. It’s definitely one of the best purchases we’ve made.
Are the museums wheelchair accessible? Would love if you could tell us places that are. Y’all are awesome.
They are! They have more information on gadsdenarts.org/visit as well. Thanks so much for your support!
You forgot the overlook at " Paseru Park" that may not be spelled right
Never heard of that, where is it? Thanks for watching!
Its a overlook view of the city on Bellevue ave kind like an old lovers lane
Dang. I hate we missed that. We’ll have to check it out next time we’re in Gadsden!
Paseur Park is an over look at 8th and Bellevue. Go at dusk so you can see the city lights.
The best thing from Gadsden is Yelawolf
It doesn’t look all that bad though
And Dre Kirkpatrick, and Cadillac Williams, and Michelin Tires, and Riverfest, and Noccolulu Falls. -Bham Resident/Native
It’s weird to celebrate someone committing suicide.
You know I, myself, have always thought that was weird...
