altho infantry has always been arguably the weakest link in every game based on men of war , they are the most rewarding to play once you get it right , i used to be one of thousands of people who would just snipe everything with tanks and then send in the infantry , this got boring not long after , nowadays i just blow away or snipe hardpoints or individual machinegunners and then send in the infantry once their are in position i let them loose wiht the free movement command its very satisfying to see them clear out a position with grenades and such
@@mcsmash4905 I was the same mate. I love the infantry gameplay in GoH, only way to play. It is to easy to 'cheese' the game by rushing and spamming tanks, focusing on infantry brings a nice challenge, I'll usually bring just one tank in support and I'll roleplay and try use it realistically. 👌

I just started watching this series. Not sure why I wasn't subscribed to you before. I love the idea of an infantry focused German campaign. I think it is very doable as they have some of the better infantry and field pieces. The Pak 43/41 is a beast that will deal with just about any tank the enemy throws at you. Also, how do you number your units and does it do anything or is it just aesthetic?
Thanks man I appreciate that! Its definitely quite the challenge but you can get it done 😂 You press (shift+1) and it assigns that group of soldiers/unit to number 1, can do that same up to 9 of course. I do it to try and keep everything organised but it tends to fall apart a little once the bullets start flying 😂
This will be interesting, pity the "strap 15cm heavy infantry guns to everything" family won't get to make a showing, but dealing with the AI's infantry spam without the convenient tank-mounted MGs will be ... different. (I guess you could leapfrog with regular MGs or those panzernests - lots of points for deploying those if not being used on tanks)
The self propelled artillery is great hey. I've found it quite challenging at times but really fun as well! The panzernests are good, I also like the idea of utilising the half tracks more with their machine guns 😁
