Oh wow! I ran away to sea on that ship when i was a young lad sailing out of Glasgow when i was 16. I was told i was an officer steward but i had no idea what i was doing. I guess it was a bunch of months later i left the boat in Bristol. Im 52 now and still wonder about her. Thank you for all the effort by all.

We went on a trip on the Balmoral back in around 2014. from Southend to the pool of London. A lovely ship, and it
was interesting to see London from the Thames. There were a couple of downsides. The ship was so packed with
people you had to take turns to breathe. We also made the mistake of not taking any food with us, as we understood
there was food available on board. By the time we got back to Southend we were starving, surviving all day on a
packet of crisps. There was also a very long delay at Tilbury, while passengers who had to get back to Ramsgate (?)
disembarked for their coaches. I of course realize that allowance has to be made for disabled people, but in an
emergency, people in wheelchairs could cost lives.

Beautiful Vessel. The Drydock part of the video bought back so many memories when I was in the Navy and went through Overhaul and Drydock in various American Shipyards. I hope that when I can travel to England again after this nonsense. I get to see her and visit the HMS Victoria. Maybe even visit the pub we got barred from in 1980.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"

What happened to the anti-fouling as she was only supposed to be operating in fresh water 🤔 which was why she was only coated in an anti-rust primer thus saving the cost of the anti-foul paint.

Following the explanations of the narrator I was always searching for a 'hall' or a 'hole' until I realized he was speaking about the hull. Being Non-English I have to rely on what I learned at school and also the Oxford Universal Dictionary tells me to pronounce the 'u' in 'hull' like the 'u' in 'nuts'. Nowadays the English language sounds pretty (or is it already 'preddy'?) American.
