Born in September 1958 in the small village of La Sterza, province of Pisa, Tuscany, Italy.
His sight was impaired from birth due to congenital glaucoma.
At age 12, Bocelli lost his vision completely after being hit in the eye with a football.
Bocelli's passion for music ignited early on. He honed his skills playing piano, flute, and saxophone, eventually studying law while performing in piano bars to support himself.
He completed law school and spent one year as a court-appointed lawyer.
A turning point came when his demo reached the legendary Luciano Pavarotti. Impressed, Pavarotti mentored the young singer. With a voice that effortlessly blends operatic grandeur and pop sensibility, Bocelli has captivated audiences worldwide. His albums have achieved unprecedented success, and his duets with artists like Sarah Brightman and Celine Dion have become timeless classics.
