9:56 Phoebe cut Monica’s hair like the late 1970s/mostly the ‘80s actor Dudley Moore who was particularly well known for a 1981 movie called Arthur that had a famous theme song that was a ballad called “Arthur’s Theme (The Best That You Can Do)” by Christopher Cross. One of the lyrics from the chorus that gets repeated a lot in the song is the line Chandler says just before the time code: “I know it’s crazy, but it’s true.” So it’s just Chandler making more Dudley Moore references to make fun of Monica’s haircut/Phoebe’s mistake. But it’s a pretty little song (although probably would sound super cheesy to young ears); but I’m biased as it came out when I was tiny and just starting to convert memories to long-term memory, so I tend to respond pretty well (nostalgically) to all popular songs from around that time.

I just checked and Christopher Cross’s CZcams channel (with a little flamingo avatar) has the official video for the song and just 10 seconds in it the video for Arthur’s Theme there is a clip from the movie where you get a good view of Dudley’s hair, so you can pause and see how good a job Phoebe did of imitating his haircut.😂 I messed up, though, the word “The” is not part of the song’s title, it’s just (Best That You Can Do). The jokes about the hair would have played better in the mid ‘90s when Dudley’s career was fading but more people would still know of him and Demi Moore’s career had really taken off (after Ghost, A Few Good Men, and Indecent Proposal). The jokes are quite dated now, but you still get the general idea that Phoebe was way off when she confused the two D (two syllables both ending in the E sound) Moores.
