- My apologies for going MIA for a bit and not letting you know that everything and everyone is ok and doing good, I know people were worried when I didn't say anything. I have been working on two vlogs this past week and they are taking longer than I thought they would.
we did still have work this week but this is everything that I did in-between when we didn't have work.
I have to say, when I say days off, I'm talking about community work but not work in general we all still have jobs around our homes that we want to and that need to get done.
so I guess you could say my days off still do have some work but I am able to go at a more leisure pace.

Personally, not everything needs to be new! I love the normal, everyday activities and routines! Canning and gardening vlogs are always fun to watch but so are the vlogs where you’re relaxing and hanging out 😊
This is what I was going to say too. Even though it seems the same to you.... canning, gardening, cooking, etc. It is always a little different and I enjoy watching.
I agree. My feelings exactly. We love it all and your life is like our lives, every day is not different and many days are mundane but we enjoy whatever you post. Whether it's cooking, sewing, working or taking a walk with your friends. Keep doing what you're doing and don't worry that the content would be boring for us.

I’m of the same opinion! Also, Giselle remember we started following you because of the days or week in the life of a young Hutterite. So you may get tired of filming some of the same things, but I speak for myself that I never get tired of the day to day stuff.
Also that stash of gummy worms cracked me up. Keep being you and we will still be here. We also celebrate The Ascension of Lord day. (im not Roman Catholic) In private prayers and contemplation mostly.

Hey Giselle! I could watch all your cook days, baking days, things you make over and over! You might think it's repetitive, but it's fun to just watch. Also, some other ideas could be shooting more of the foraging you and the community might do.... How to identify the things you collect, what to do with them, etc.... herbs, tinctures, salves (if you make them), and I can TOTALLY get behind boatloads of canning videos!! I love all the preserving vids!!!!.... How did you learn to sew, what kind of projects does a beginner start working on? The communities out by me here in Alberta (just outside of Edmonton) make beautiful quilts, comforters, slippers, gloves, etc, to sell at the farmers mkts. Does your community do that?
I'm a photographer and was invited to take photos at a local colony that has a meat shop on site, so that was fun taking images of all the goods they sell online. I'd love to see any content that you create. Don't overthink it... just film things. It makes no matter that you've already showed us... There are always new people watching who haven't seen it! BTW, how did the tapache turn out???

I really like your what i do in a day/week videos, don't worry about being repetitive its fun to hang out with you and see what you get up to. I enjoy the gardening, household chores, trips out, learning about your colony' traditions, jobs etc. Seeing you interact with other people on your colony. I love sewing would love to see the whole process of you sewing one of your shirts and dresses (I know you can't share the pattern). I've seen snippets of you sewing these in your videos but would love to see it from start to finish. Also what other things do you sew for around the house. Could you show how to make things like the peg apron. What's growing in the greenhouse at the moment? Could we see how a food delivery gets ordered and put away. Do you still use Morning mercies as your devotional? If not what are you currently using? Hi, your vlogs are always great but since you asked. Like once you showed, it was interesting that at Easter each person gets a cake with icing. From other outside vlogs I've seen they show how to prepare a duck in sauce, how they lay the dinner table with flowers, napkins or not, prayers or rituals at dinner, what they do on the Sabbath. If anything spooky happened round about and telling it by candle light. Shopping trips, they show what they bought and compare prices. Budgeting. A camp night over by the river. Cleaning is always a huge inspiration. Maybe stories and some pictures of years back how your community started. You are like a breath of fresh air, so thank you.

I love to read and sing along 😃 ideas for videos this summer: I would like to see a tour of your gardens and greenhouses. Who is the person in charge of planning where things go and what is planted? Can you interview others about what they personally like to plant, harvest, can, etc. Other ideas: day in the life of Kona, show other animals on your colony, such as your horses.
I don’t mind seeing the same activities you have shown before. After all, most of us don’t have new and exciting things happening every week.

I would be interested in a vlog about plants that are found in the wild, that you harvest, and then what you use them for. I know you have many plants that you dry to use for tea. I would like to know more about these plants; When you harvest them, how you prefer to dry them, and then what the applications are for the tea. I would also be interested if you use any plants to make tinctures.
I live in Wisconsin, on a hobby farm. I garden, can and have goats and chickens. I like to sew and do crafts.

I would love to see a compilation video of how the gardens grew from spring through harvest. It will be amazing to see your community's accomplishment. As a previous poster said, remember that you have a life, not just the vlog- though all of us treasure every time we hear from you. There are people in your colony who depend on you and want to be involved with you. They should be put first. We do absolutely love the glimpses of life you show us on your colony. Hello Giselle. I have been going to write a comment for sometime now but wasn’t sure if I had the right community until todays blog where you said you are close to Brandon. Some 30 odd years ago I was visiting friends in Brandon and they took me to your community to buy some cucumbers for pickling. A very nice lady took us around on a little tour of your kitchen areas and briefly explained the Hudderite life to us. We also were shown the fabricating shops and the beekeepers shed and the fellow who looked after the beehives was kind enough to explain all about extracting the honey from the hives. I found it fascinating to learn of your lifestyle and values. It was so clam and peaceful and family oriented that I never wanted to leave. I loved the way everyone has a place and contributes to the community. It was difficult for me to leave. But after buying some cucumbers (hand picked and washed by a group of lovely giggly girls) and a nice big jar of honey we drove off. I know I was forever changed by that visit. Thank you Giselle for your vlogs because they allow me to relive that visit. Tell me is there still a man who looks after the beehives? Or do you even have beehives anymore, you've never mentioned them in you vlogs?
And another thing - I like the singing that you share. I have written out parts of the songs to use in my prayers. Thanks very much.

I adore the gardening, cooking and everyday activities. I was privileged to be taught to cook at 2 and I'm 60 now but love the old fashioned recipes that you do. I love to learn and I know i buy Hutterite veggies, pies and bread at the markets. Then comes your cool crafts

I think every vlog is fun, what you find boring and mundane I love seeing, your days are different from ours so they are all fun and interesting, so remember we watch to see your day, and see you, we are interested in you, we love you, your personality, your happy spirit, and learning about you. So I guess I'd just keep showing you, and little bits of yourself, it's not boring, to us, you just make everything happier. Simple is best, don't work too hard on anything, show the fun, the work days, the walks, the baking, cooking, vegetable picking, eating, relaxing, running with Kona, or whatever you do. I love to see the planting, harvesting and of course the cooking. I also like the cleaning videos, walks and really just anything. It's so interesting to see how you live. Nothing seems repetitive. It's a different day, month and time of year and living has to keep going. I watch a gardening show and she too worries that people will be bored with watching another hole being dug and another vegetable or flower being planted but it's all interesting and inspirational to get these things done ourselves. Would love canning vlogs!! How you prep jars, if you have different machines to wash, what your canners look like, do you water bath or pressure can? Do you enjoy canning? Do you remember who taught you to can or who was with you the first time you canned? What's your favorite thing to can??!! Any secret recipes you can share? 😁
I agree with what everyone else has said, but I also think it would be interesting to have a tour. We see you in the fields when you're harvesting but it would be fun to get an over-all view of your acreage. How many acres do you have tilled and planted? Are any fields lying fallow? How many acres does it take to feed your community? Also, how are your stores from last year's harvest? A tour of your storeroom would be interesting.
The nature shots are so beautiful including places and weather. Anything you want to share is enough. Weed Eaters are dangerous so glad your brother can guide you.

Recently , was told prayers I have been praying on behalf of my son's situation would be better. Yesterday got a text that said things are changing for the good. So thankful. I have watched or listened to almost all of your videos, personally I like the ones where you talk more, that is because I am usually cooking or cleaning something when I am using CZcams, I listen more than I watch. Sometimes I just turn on the videos and speed them up till I see you speaking then I stop the video and listen to what you have to say. I have watched you cook and clean, the cooking videos are fun to watch. That being said, post what you want, when you want. Your viewers will be glad to watch or listen to whatever you create.
I love your Vlogs the way they are! I always enjoy the food prep weeks when it is your turn to cook. The volume of food you gave to make is impressive especially if you are making breads or other items. I love your casual walks with Kona ( I laughed this week with Kona running back and forth, so happy to be done with snow) You don’t have to feel pressured to get a Vlog out on a specific day, do what works for you and we will appreciate it! Personally, I enjoy seeing the usual tasks but likely enjoy viewing the large meals, and the baking being prepared the most. The housework, the laundry and everything that you already do. The information doesn't have to be new because I simply enjoy watching those types of tasks being done. It motivates me to do mine as well.
