It amazes me, he’s actually a decent player when he’s confident and the team works together, he can carry the ball etc, at man utd he gets the ball and passes back, no one helps anyone, all gotta move for each other
Loss of confidence plus they play almost completely different. Man U can't control the ball the same way for him to be able to play short like in Ajax and have a full back ready to provide his width. United is always on the counter, always needing to make fast runs and play longer balls. If he doesn't have a short pass available, he will hold up for the team to get forward, which kills the counter. When they do get forward, they are bad at passing fast and short, and making themselves available. There is no place for him in a counter attacking team. A lot more signings have to happen for him to make sense. Not 2 or 3. More like 8.

Ajax asked for 80 million for him, a few weeks later we offered that and they refused, they were shifting the goal posts and he felt like his dream move was being blocked even though there was an amazing offer on the table. Even though I don't agree with him doing the interview with Fabrizio, I can see why he was frustrated. I'm just happy we got him and I hope Ajax use the money well 🙂

Rashford not bad but he not a great dribbler , he has the speed . Sancho not very dangerous but can hold the ball at right side a open more space and united need skillful player like anthony to beat one on one.

Of course I would prefer it we could keep teams a togeher a little bit longer, but what I cant condone is the way how he played it. Thank you for Antony and Martinez. I'm a United fan since the 80s but have always loved Ajax. Your players, academy, philosphy and often compelling coaches. So many of the most talented & intelligent players of European football have passed through your team. Michael Laudrup, Van Basten, Bergkamp, Rijkaard, Sneijder, Zlatan etc and of course the most influential footballer of his time, Johan Cruyff. I hope some day your team will play in a European Cup final again and so long as it's not Manchester United on the other side of the pitch, I'm cheering you on. Ajax is more than a club, it's an idea about how football should be played and how young players can improve their craft.
We've signed 2 great players this summer and I hope we treat them well.

Both Antony and Licha were not the players they are today when they first joined Ajax. Sure, they were great prospects but it’s in Amsterdam where they developed and matured their game, also on a tactical and decisionmaking level

Maar ik denk dat we daarbij ook rekening moeten houden dat deze jongen in opgegroeid in de favela en gewoon heel anders denkt dan wij. Als jou vrienden van vroeger in de drugswereld zitten of dood zijn, sta je toch anders in het leven dan wanneer je gewoon in Nederland bent opgegroeid. Maar we gaan hem zeker missen!

"met alle respect" maar Excelsior, Cambuur, NEC, Emmen, Volendam, RKC, Go Ahead Eagles, Fortuna Sittard zijn niet clubs waar je jaar in jaar uit tegen wilt spelen. Onze beste spelers worden altijd verkocht en dan is het weer op 0 beginnen.
Ach ja, hij bracht in ieder geval een hoop geld in het laatje. Over een paar jaar herinneren we ons alleen nog hoe goed hij was als speler, niet hoe hij wegging.
