I can't believe how many dishonest repair shops, including dealerships I've run into. With comments like "no one can fix this " to "it's $110.00 to diagnose and if we can fix it it'll be over $1000.00. An honest man is hard to find.
You deserve an award, thank you.

Well that was 5 mins of my life I'll never get back.
My O2 Grand Marquis will blow cold air for about 20 minutes and then switch to the defrost and floor still blowing cold air. Would it be this right here or a blend door actuator?
Following I’m having by the same issue. Mine switches to defrost and floor when I’m at higher speeds
I'm having same issue on my 06 crown vic
It would be this I believe. Blend door controls temperature
@@Uptownxvic having same issue 06 grand marquis. Any idea diagnosis appreciated
@@c-3637 I tried replacing the o rings first as a cheaper repair but it didn’t work. I went and bought the used part ata junkyard and that fixed it. I would try replacing the o rings first if you got the patience.
Thank you!!
My issue is it's not blowing out enough air. Could this cause the same issue by any chance?
What did u find out?
How many clips?
Do they have the part even if it's a 2003 and it's not climbing control
Definitely my problem then it will come on at certain times but won’t stay on hoping it nothing before that
Mine is only blowing out vents. Same fix? Thanks!
Yes
I have a 2003 ford crown vic on acceleration the ac switches from the main vents to the defrost vents. Is this the part I need to change out? If not what causes that? I also have a new compressor and a fresh charge of freon.
Did you ever figure out what was the issue
Mine is doing this
Mine is doing the same thing 2003 of replaced every part so now they're saying it's the upper arm what he just took out two I just looked it up on CZcams with him pretty good advice
Hmmm i have the inverse problem, my 2011 Grand Marquis is stuck on the vent setting, it blows out the front vents no matter what setting you select, i though the systems were designed to default to the Def setting when they fail, im up in canada need the defrost to see out the front
I dont think i suspect the Climate unit to be the issue, and parts are hard to find in canada not many of these around
Is there a way to send power out on certain wires and see if the problem is before or after the controller
I see now that the vacuum valve is internal to the climate controller, i suppose that could be the issue
@@AndrewBrowner So did it get fixed?
@@MikeyMike0954 nahh its summer now thats Winter Andrew's problem
My dad's MGM is blowing 49 degrees, too warm. What is the normal AC temp range?
35-40 probably low on refrigerant
This is exactly like my car 2010 with non working front vents
I have a 2003 crown vic. Had the a/c on max and was working fine. Opened the glove box to get something out and heard a sound like a flap closing and the blower continued blowing the same but the air stoped coming out of the vent. Still works fine on norm but wont come out vents on max/air. Help me please I'm a poor old man that can't afford the pricey mech.
You most likely have to follow the video instructions and replace the part, with time they get a air leak and that stops them from controlling the vents properly. Either that or you have to check out your vent but that’s unlikely

Thank you for the info
@@williampeachey6057 save yourself the money, theres a video here that shows you how to rebuild the unit with some O rings. I had the same problem, nothing shooting out the vents and strictly the Defrosters.

My 2003 MGM GS came with the three knob climate controls. Does anyone know if it's possible to swap to the digital controls like what's in the video? Or is it missing other parts to make those controls function?
I’m having same problem
No that it way too complicated, you’d save more time buying a Vic or anything panther platform with a EATC already in that’s how complicated it is to install.
Is your unit considered an automatic climate control? Mine is the regular one with jus 3 knobs. It's currently in a shop because the air barely comes out vents and when I I called the mechanic to give him rundown he said he doesn't know if he can do anything with it because it's an automatic climate control type but idk what that means
I think it’s automatic but I’m not completely sure
Hey! I need buy and remplace that I mean the clim control? Sorry for the english.
Try your nearest junk yard, if not then eBay but they are expensive online
I changed the climate control and put a refurbished one. Air not blowing at all and no sounds of anything working. Any one please have any other reference what I might have to check next since
A/C was working properly before.
If the fan blower isn’t making any noise I’d say that’s your issue.
Black line broke at firewall no vacume
Will this fix a weak flow i have already replaced the blower motor and the blower regulator but the air is still coming out very low even on max
I just recharged my 97 MGM but when it first starts up it smells like mold then goes away... Have y'all had this problem
Yes, you can fix it with a spray bottle with undiluted white vinegar. Its caused from condensation (stagnant water) left on the evaporator many many times; makes stinky, mildew. open windows, turn AC on full blast and spray 4-6 oz, slowly over 10 minutes into the return air intake under the dash. Open hood, also spray mist into air intake above the blower motor, be careful, vinegar can damage paint. Works on all cars. The acid in the vinegar will kill the mildew. Smell will go away. Repeat if necessary. If it's really bad, buy a new evaporator and replace. You can also use vapor steam to clean, but you would also need to remove it and have the system rebuilt/ recharged. Car will smell like vinegar for a day or so, but that fades away.use food-grade vinegar, not cleaning-vinegar, its safer
I bought a new one.. changed the blend door motor... one thing that’s happening now, that wasn’t before. When I change the setting I hear a quick whistle. Like a vacuum sound. I didn’t hear that before.
But I am still not getting any AC. Like the blower motor isn’t working. Any ideas??
Probably one of the vacuum lines got disconnected
@@GarageBoys it’s only when I go to change the settings. For like 1/2 a second. You hear it. It’s coming from inside the actual control module.. I took it out and thats where it’s coming from..¿
It’s been so long since I had a working AC in this car. I can’t remember if that was normal lol..
When I go to turn the AC on.. you hear it start up but there’s no Fan running. Like something is wrong with the blower.
Getting error code 25
Anyone find a video on replacing the vent motors? Not the blend door but the vacuum actuator for the defrost. It’s buried under the dash behind the HVAC control unit.
@@davidpgh1501 pfffh. My Pittsburgh brother? 8 months later I still got no AC or fan. My next try was the Blower Motor Control Resistor Module. Now I see my Ac accumulator has a small leak on the top. Nothing in my AC system is engaging. So it has to be one of those two..
If that’s any help to you… lol.
