This looks like the same exact thing that I bought as a pair/kit. HTB-GS-03. I think it's Chinese made and gets re-labeled by others. There are versions in videos with only a single Fiber port usable and the units are labeled "A" and "B" and you connect a single fiber cable between the two TX ports.
Yes, BiDi Media Converter provides only one available single fiber port, and can connect a single fiber cable between two TX ports, they need to be used together.
@@10gtek Mine says it's BiDi in the advertisement. I wonder if I disconnected 2nd port if it would actually DO that. BiDi supposedly uses two different wavelengths of light signal to accomplish 2 directions. Interestingly, by the color of the cable, you seem to be using multimode fiber on a supposedly single mode device.
@@alanspicertelecom Regarding the BIDI Media Converter you purchased, we recommend that you can test it to see if it works.
The device in our video is supported by multimode fiber.
For example I have 3 mediacons,
Media Converter = MC
MC1 Tx -> MC2 Rx
MC2 Tx -> MC3 Rx.
Will this work?
This will not work.
MC1 Tx -> MC2 Rx
MC2 Tx -> MC1 Rx.
Only this will work.
@@10gtek I think he mis-typed MC3 meaning MC1. Nowhere else does he mention an MC3 and he would need to tell a lot more info about MC3 ... and you obviously can't connect 3 MC's to each other.
@@alanspicertelecom Yes, the media converter cannot connect 3 MC'S to each other.
