- "Ode to a Nightingale" was written by the Romantic poet John Keats in the spring of 1819. At 80 lines, it is the longest of Keats's odes.

Keats was physically unwell and was suffering when he wrote this poem. This is why he's saying that the world is full of misery and sadness and wished he lived in the blissful world of nightingale
