This piece is a two-piano version of Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Paganini. Originally, this piece is a concerto for piano and orchestra. I know that in Rachmaninoff's two-piano version, Piano 1 is the piano part and Piano 2 is the orchestra part. I decided today that I would practice this piece through sight reading until the end. I would play on Piano 1 and sometimes during the orchestral part, if Piano 1 stayed on a rest for a long time, I would play the part on Piano 2. And if Piano 1's melody was too monotonous, I played Piano 1 and Piano 2 parts together. I had practiced Variation No.18, the most famous and beautiful piece in this piece, on the piano solo edited score. However, when I got to variation No.18, I lost stamina and concentration, so I couldn't play that part well. And I found out that the two piano and solo piano versions of Variation No.18 are somewhat different. Variation No.18 1:31:40 I've heard this piece many times, but after practicing it from start to finish like this, I thought I knew a little bit about how great a professional pianist is. I think playing this piece like I would feel like running the full Olympic marathon course in under 2 hours and 30 minutes. Thank you for reading the long story. Below is a link to Lugansky's performance version of this piece.😅 czcams.com/video/QSxFYwlF7CQ/video.htmlsi=nOpLy53rjPZtTGdY
@@RoseWilson Dear RoseWilson! Thank you for your compliments and positive comments about me. But I know that you are much better than me. That's what I know right away when I hear you play Rachmaninoff's Preludes and other pieces. Have a good day!🤗😅
I admire your perseverance, dear Gwanghae! 👌 Even at a slow tempo, these are the notes of this fantastic work and it brings good luck to play it! I have also heard this concert many times. I love the recording with Daniil Trifonov, 12 years ago - what energy is there that can be heard in the first chords!!! czcams.com/video/AAu6BRWL8p8/video.html Have fun playing and best wishes! 🤗
@@juliane_steinwachs-zeil Dear Juliane! Thank you so much for always leaving generous and positive comments about my practice. You told me earlier that you liked Danil Trifonov's performance. Since then, whenever I have time, I find myself watching and listening to his performances. I like his performances too. I recently heard him play Rachmaninoff's Variations on a Theme of Chopin. And when I walk my friend's dog, I listen to the Liszt Études performed by Daniil Trifonov. I will take a look and listen to the link you provided this time when I take a break. Thank you once again for giving positive value to my practice. Have a good evening!🤗😅
