Manolo Mendez and Schwaiganger's Ritz Carlton - Click on CC for subtitles

On Monday, July 6th, after a very successful Symposium on Optimizing Equine Straightness, Balance and Performance via Fascia Retraining and Postural Rehabilitation held at the historical and beautiful National Schwaiganger Stud with with Dr. Ridgway and guest of honor Colonel Carde, Manolo spent the morning back at the Schwaiganger Stud.
There, he met with some of the Stud's riders and students and worked with three horses while Stud Director Mr. Senckenberg looked on with much interest (and a smile). Included in the horses was Ritz Carlton, a talented young stallion schooling PSG.
Manolo worked slowly and progressively to gain Ritz Carlton's trust (he started out quite excited and high) and helped him calm down and release tension.
Eventually, he was able to school a couple of piaffe steps - this is all the piaffe steps he asked for out of the entire session - and then explained what work needs to take place going forward to continue enhancing Ritz Carlton's ambidexterity which will lead to better piaffe and passage in time.

Ritz Carlton was born and bred in Schwaiganger in 2007.
He is 171 cm high and darkbrown. As a 5- and as 6-years old he qualified for dressagehorse Bundeschampionat. By the age of 7 years he was successful in class S.
His father Rivero III and his grandfather Pour Plaisir were very successful in high level dressage.
In their lineage, there are pure full-blood, thoroughbred ancestors from Schwaiganger. Ritz Carlton is ridden by Hexe.
