I think a lot of kids even know the stuff they are doing is unsafe. Of course that means someone has taught them power tools are not toys. I know I knew more about tools as a kid even though my Dad never really let me do anything more than watch.
It's so obvious what to do and how to use all those tools, and i would love to have all of them, also felt the same way, predicted that wood will fly from miles away, idk how a 30 year old can make such a mistake

If it's your first time working with power tools, one of you should at least read the instruction manuals. Watching Gabe and Aaron manually positioning that slab under the mitre saw was like watching a horror film. The thing was rocking back and forth.

Aaron, you're gonna cut your arm off bro. when you use that miter saw, push the wood all the way back to the fence( the 90 degree angle at the back of the saw) that will keep your material from kicking back. I am a contractor, and I have been around tools my whole life,I have taught apprentices how to use safe practices around power tools, and when that wood kicked back on you I shuttered. what I tell my guys out in the field, is Murphy's law, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong if you don't make sure it's safe. good luck, love the videos, tell Lance to commit, and happy holidays to the rest of the Braille army

Hey Braille guys, you might think all these concerned comments are just the internet, or people being overly worried. They aren't. You guys are beyond risking yourselves with how you handle tools. Accidents happen all the time and when power tools are involved they aren't fun or funny. Please, please, please do things safely as far as the saws and blades go. If you wonder why so many people who know how to use a mitre saw would cringe or be nervous it's because they probably have seen a shop accident where someone messed up. This stuff actually happens and it's pretty easily avoidable. Anyway, love the videos. The new skate park looks sweet. For the love of God be careful with your power tools. If I were Ryobi I would be ashamed I sent you those.
+sethusk agreed... used to work in a steel plant, seen alot of accidents happen to guys using nail guns, metal shears, table saws, grinders, banding guns you name it.. guys who used them every day and knew how to handle them... super cringey to see people use them this carelessly... love the channel but this was painful to watch

That saw has a knob that lets it go forward and backwards on the rail, so if you're cutting something a lot wider you can pull it out to start the cut. That doesn't mean you cut a damn 2x4 10 inches off the guard lol

okay, with the miter saw you place the board against that back panel! it helps you get a straight cut and keep it in place. that saw slides that far forward just to cut wide boards, but you start at the back

Note i cut the end of my thumb off from a Ryobi skill saw the small round one you push so if you do not know and they are made with cheap quality and it kicked back on me PLS be very careful. I am a professional giving some friendly advice be safe.

I really like Braille and I think it's really cool of Ryobi to send them those tools, but the should NOT have sent someone who can't even tell a wood drill from a metal one a miter saw. Somebody is going to lose some fingers or a hand.
metal drill bits or drill bits in general depend on the maker of the drill bits colour wise gold doesnt meant metal nor does it mean wood same for silver its just the manufacturer that makes them a diff colour

People in the comments seem surprised at their misuse of tools. Really? Have you ever seen Aaron try to open a package? He puts a long drill bit into a cordless drill and then-while it's turning-shears it sideways through the tape as it if were a small electric saw. I love these guys, but I'm not sure they could safely build a rectangle out of legos. :-P

I watch every vid you guys post and have been following yall since near the beginning but can you please do something about the audio quality when filming vids in the warehouse? It's killer.
put the wood on the fence/back of the mitre saw and use your hand to hold it against it. do not cross your arms while using it and get it to full speed before cutting. do not cut short pieces and keep your hands about 6 inches away from the blade. you can clamp down the wood near the fence if it is difficult to hold or is too small/close to the blade. lock the saw in position before making cuts and you can lock the saw closest to the fence if the wood is shorter than the blade. you can also flip a board 180 degrees to cut almost twice as wide, just might be off by a 16th. make sure you don't cut the fence or your limbs

Here's some construction worker vernacular I'm gonna throw at you. The circular saw is called a skillsaw. The reciprocating saw is called a sawsall. The miter saw is pronounced my-ter, but you should just call it a chopsaw, & by the way, you did everything with the chopsaw wrong. I hope you have a professional who can teach you not to murder yourselves operating the equipment.
Yeah & rollerblade is a brand too, but nobody calls them "inline skates" even when they're not from rollerblade. & Band-Aid is a brand, but nobody calls them "adhesive bandages" Everyone I know calls them all skillsaws regardless of brand.
They're not gonna be using these tools anyways... These fellas Here have what we call a "skateboarding" channel.
with the miter saw you have to push your wood all the way back against the metal stop on the saw, and some clamps should be included to hold the wood for you.
Definitely check out Miter saw made simple, It teaches sawing better than anything else out there.
