My first car was a charger when I was 19 and I loved it. It has always been my favorite car and if I didn’t have a family I would probably have one right now.
The rt definitely has some kick to it. It’s just the right amount of power. I wouldn’t say it’s a slow car. But I do recommend you get the 6.4. You will have more fun and it packs a punch

@@diegolerma1516 Yea you can do a 392 but it’s risky unless you go with as much boost as possible before it becomes too much which is like less than 6.5lbs of boost. Anything higher than that and it becomes a ticking time bomb. A 5.7 on the other hand can go way higher it’s supposedly limited to 7-8lbs of boost but it’s possible to go up to 10lbs or more no problem. I know 8lbs of psi on a RT can get you around 571hp. So any more boost can see where the horsepower is going it’s easily beating a stock Scatpack that’s pretty good for a RT most people don’t know this either is the crazy part
I rented a 2019 charger rt with similar alloy wheels and black leather with sway inserts 3 years ago to see a buddy of mine 4 hours away. It handled really well and that exhaust note was music to my ears. Sadly, I dont think I can daily drive this due to the harsh winters I have to deal with here in the northeastern part of the states.
na man.. i live in southern canada..its bad in winter but you just need good tires and a light throttle. only issue coming from a SUV/truck driver is the ground clearance and everyone's lights are in my eyes... but other than that fantastic car and SUPER fun in the winter
I have driven every trim level except the jailbreak and redeye I had wayyy more fun in the rt than another trim I feel like it’s just the right amount daily power for the streets
Lots of apprehensions about what the redesigned models will look like in the future. I hope they'll feature the same type of exhaust as these because so many new vehicles have the dual exhausts tucked behind the bumper and that's a bit disappointing.
Bought my first car (challenger rt 2019) I’m 21 just got it a few months ago…I used to drive my parents minivan so it’s got plenty of power hahaha if I really cared about being fast I’d get the mustang gt but I like the rt is comfortable with big seats, decent fuel economy and I still get compliments when I open up that exhaust

Drove 1 of these the other day. Thing looks good, sounds good and is quick enough for me. Guess I’m not used to fast cars cause it definitely had enough juice for me and not to mention it gets better gas mileage then a scat and you can use 89 on these instead of 91 and it felt super comfortable for a daily car. Also this 1 has some really nice aftermarket rims 🔥 I wonder if the exhaust was stock or what he did to it
Most people who go into performance cars don't really care about what gas mileage it gets. My 6.2 LS3 in my Chevy SS gets 10mpg on 93 octane but I couldn't care less because I love the sound and actually having to drive my car with it being a manual.
Sport mode is automatic. You can paddle shift anytime. "It's not fast but it's not slow"... It's fast... family sedan with V8 as back in my day... with better handling. I enjoy my '20 RT as do my grandkids😂. Thanks for the vid🎸
Im 26 I just bought a 2022 charger Rt in Smokeshow Gray blacktop edition. This car is awsome I must say especially coming from a 2013 v6 mustang. I've gotten so many compliments already . The stock exhaust sounds so good with the active exhaust . It's already loud but not too loud but I'm going to do a muffler delete soon. It's way faster than it gets credit for . Its faster than any regular car on the road which pretty much like 80% of cars. I just chill when I see a scat or hellcat
Actually about to do the same. coming from a 2014 V6. Does it ride better than the mustang? Any issues/regrets so far? I'd get a 5.0 but I need 4 seats for cargo and people
@@ToadxGaming i like the space way better than the mustang and at high speeds I feel way more confident in my charger than I did the stang as well. I will say get bigger tires tho because stock these come with 245 width ones and they spin a lot. I don't have any regrets nor issues ! It's a great daily driver and with the muffler delete it sounds insane. I'd recommend it !
Is this car it suitable for harsh conditions, such as extreme heat and heavy dust? I live in Iraq has a very very volatile climate, and the holes in the ground on the northern roads are very bad due to the wars that Iraq went through. Do you advise me to buy it in these circumstances?

People should understand that the R/Ts are pretty much regular cars with good sound and enough passing power on the road. You'd need a Scat Pack and up to actually race anyone that's worth competing for, not a raggedy Civic

@@bloomth This RT has nearly the same 0-60 time as a Toyota Camry. It weighs as much as an SUV. This power level doesn’t translate to a fast accelerating vehicle. The Scat Pack has more power to actually push the weight better. For the same money there are lighter weight sedans with less power that are much faster. I review cars for a living and have driven everything from the cheap cars to the super cars. There are a ton of better options at this price if you want a fast sedan

Gotta say this first so you don't think I'm dogging your video. Great video. I enjoyed it. So you're saying the RT is slow but that's from your point of view. Take somebody who's never driven a rear wheel drive V8 car and think about how they're going to react to the car. I'm sure you've probably driven something with 700 to 800 horsepower which is fast. But if you take someone who has never driven anything besides a 94 Civic misfiring on two cylinders and this car would scare the crap out of them.
I ordered a Camaro I think I already told you In a Camaro video you did but, with news of Camaro orders getting canceled I’m thinking of a challenger or Supra more leaning toward Supra. But I love how aggressive the challenger and chargers sound.

My rt plus was electronically limited to 134.obviously this wasn’t done on a public roadway. It always cut out at 134mph. 2018 rt plus with track pack.
Had the RT in 2016. And the scat In 2019. Car looks identical still lmao. Nothing has changed. Especially interior. No wireless car play and we in 2022
im 16, thinking of getting a 2015-17 SE, or SXT stock, gonna put 6-7 grand down, pay 300-400$ payments + insurance (probably 400-550$ a month) reason i say stock, is because if it has all stock wheels, stock build itll be cheaper, so when i do get it, i can just buy the rims, accessories like window louvers, spoiler, decals. so much accessories to make these SE's and SXT's compliment getters. thanks for this review.
Honestly if you are going to be paying $400-500 a month on insurance, which is insane, I would look for a cheaper first vehicle! I pay $480 total for the year on my GTR! It’s a cool car but you are young and have plenty of time to buy one. Just my advise, you don’t need to spend that much for a car, but if it’s something you truly want go for it. I couldn’t image paying that much for insurance.
This is my dream car, i know the scatpacks is the better but however I don’t plan on racing or anything crazy. I could of had pulled the trigger and gotten a RT but with gas price and pandemic I settle with a Malibu which is good daily and great for gas, my plan is to pay off my Malibu and then pass it down to my brother and hopefully I can afford a scatpack but I would settle for a RT plus.

16 is amazing for a 5.7 L, most of the cars I have owned my live have gotten less than 15 miles per gallon I have driven mostly American v8 and v6 and I used to drive a BMW 530i that got 14 mpg with an I6 engine

I can’t stomach the checkerboard plaid pattern on the cloth seats. Last rt and new one I had to get nappa leather. Could have gotten a scat for the same price but I can’t look at those seats everyday.
They are definitely slow for a V8. Similar acceleration to a Camry. The Scat Pack with the 6.4 is wayyy better. But only the Hellcats are actually fast. Very heavy car
I am in the research phase of car shopping, will be in the buying phase next year. I have no idea why I would go for any of the European brands when this is 30 grand cheaper (brand new, cheaper now a few years in with some miles on em).
Just depends on what you are looking for and want. Yea it’s cheaper but the interior also reflects that. It’s a nice interior but European brands will have nicer materials and for a cost as well. Good luck with the search!
Great review! Do you think the dodge tires will last on rough roads like the Long Island expressway, looking to get a sedan and these have the biggest rims I could find for one but the roads have been brutal, the car looks dope!
They have the same 0-60 time. Probably has more top end with the V8, so yeah it'd do better in a roll. But certainly not a fast car compared to many others. Way too heavy and not enough power to be considered fast. My wife's 4 cylinder S3 would smoke this all day long

Depends on if you can afford it and want it now! Even if it gets discontinued, you'd still be able to find a charger, so just depends on when you want one!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed you havent owned a chrysler in florida with a quote full warranty then. Its like the first thing every dealer says its so common. All dodge and chryslers. They sold me a lemon and fcked me out of the warranty work. Its why during riots i passed their names to crazy people and suggested psychos target auto dealers and slumlords instead of innocent people/schools. Seems to of worked this was in 2020
Car definitely doesn’t need a supercharger to be fast lol there’s several relatively small things you can do to make this compete with the scat pack and even GT mustangs and SS Camaros
@@thechaosphantom17 not true big dog. It’s not a drag racer but with some bolt ons and a proper tune it’s definitely not “extremely slow”. Not too hard to get 400+ to the wheel and then if you stroke it and/or forge the internals you can make serious power. And then you add some forced air and you can very much be in hellcat territory.

This had a few cosmetic mods and an exhaust. But no real mods to make it any faster or better than stock. The RT Charger has a near identical 0-60 to a V6 Toyota Camry. It's just nothing impressive in power. It weighs so much. Your own personal experience of course plays a factor in what you think is quick for a car. I daily drive a 700 HP Nissan GTR. Needless to say not much feels fast for me. My car will destroy a Super Stock Challenger ;) So to me this was very slow. Scat Pack is a pretty quick car, this 5.7 just lacks it for me
These do sound good. You would have to be crazy to buy one of these used. They’re so ragged out. I’ve come to hate them though because they are all over Atlanta and they race them up and down the streets.

to be honest with you, they should of just thrown the ole 6.1 in the R/ts when the 6.4's were placed in the scatpacks...i'd agree, 375 hp to the crank in a 4k pounds performance vehicle just won't cut it..this pretty much sets the r/t's in v6 territory and they won't touch most v8's...i can put 2 car lengths on r/ts in my raggedy 5.0 genesis sedan...smh...and these r/ts cost like 44k now...you can get a much faster gt or ss for slightly cheaper..
I have a Shaker 392 Scat Pick Challenger video coming. I was very impressed with the 6.5L. This 5.7 really is all show no go. I think they should ditch the engine and just have the V6 AWD version for the non performance people. And then have the 6.4 as the V8 option.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah, i will tune in for that one...the 392's pack a mean punch.....a person would have to be lost in the "sauce' to assume that the r/t, or sxt are a better picks over the scat...6.4's offer easy out of the box power, and no modifications needed in order to put on the hurt...i don't wanna spend 1,000s of dollars on bolt ons and tune the first month after purchasing a vehicle simply because it's not fast enough and with the scat., factory power is more than enough...

Some people feel this is a slower car and it really just depends on what you're used to. If you've had a lot of seat time in the 6.4L, 5.0, God forbid a hellcat, this probably isn't all that impressive. I'm saving for one of these bad boys after owning a 120whp fwd car for 5 years. An R/T will probably feel like jumping into hyperspace for me 😂
Very true! I'm used to my 700 HP Nissan GTR. Needless to say, Hellcats don't even feel fast for me lol. But most people will probably enjoy the pep with the RT. Scat Pack to me is much more fun tho and throws you in your seat enough
You don't pull up twice on the door handle, you touch, then pull up. You should order the real longer shift paddles, they don't cost a whole lot, cause those stick on extensions are lame.
I've filmed a ton of the Chargers and Challengers. They never unlock when I touch the handle lol. I always have to pull it up once. And the button seems to only lock it. Yeah If I owned this car I'd do legit replacements not the stick on ones. When I had my Supra I did full carbon replacements instead of the stick on ones. Such a nice upgrade

You know the Hemi is something else when people try to compare it to the 5.0 and SS.
This Hemi feels much slower then the 5.0 and SS. The 6.4L is more on par with the V8 Mustang and Camaro acceleration

Gotta say this first so you don't think I'm dogging your video. Great video. I enjoyed it. So you're saying the RT is slow but that's from your point of view. Take somebody who's never driven a rear wheel drive V8 car and think about how they're going to react to the car. I'm sure you've probably driven something with 700 to 800 horsepower which is fast. But if you take someone who has never driven anything besides a 94 Civic misfiring on two cylinders and this car would scare the crap out of them.

My rt plus was electronically limited to 134.obviously this wasn’t done on a public roadway. It always cut out at 134mph. 2018 rt plus with track pack.

im 16, thinking of getting a 2015-17 SE, or SXT stock, gonna put 6-7 grand down, pay 300-400$ payments + insurance (probably 400-550$ a month)
reason i say stock, is because if it has all stock wheels, stock build itll be cheaper, so when i do get it, i can just buy the rims, accessories like window louvers, spoiler, decals.
so much accessories to make these SE's and SXT's compliment getters.

Honestly if you are going to be paying $400-500 a month on insurance, which is insane, I would look for a cheaper first vehicle! I pay $480 total for the year on my GTR!
It’s a cool car but you are young and have plenty of time to buy one. Just my advise, you don’t need to spend that much for a car, but if it’s something you truly want go for it. I couldn’t image paying that much for insurance.

This is my dream car, i know the scatpacks is the better but however I don’t plan on racing or anything crazy. I could of had pulled the trigger and gotten a RT but with gas price and pandemic I settle with a Malibu which is good daily and great for gas, my plan is to pay off my Malibu and then pass it down to my brother and hopefully I can afford a scatpack but I would settle for a RT plus.

16 is amazing for a 5.7 L, most of the cars I have owned my live have gotten less than 15 miles per gallon I have driven mostly American v8 and v6 and I used to drive a BMW 530i that got 14 mpg with an I6 engine

I don't see full electric actually happening. But hybrid tech would be cool. Would still retain all the V8 aspects and sounds! But better MPG

I can’t stomach the checkerboard plaid pattern on the cloth seats. Last rt and new one I had to get nappa leather. Could have gotten a scat for the same price but I can’t look at those seats everyday.
Yeah the cloth really makes these feel cheap. The leather interior are super nice and make them feel like a big step up!
Question can you replace the radio station and add a table touch screen ?? And can you add starlight headliner

They are definitely slow for a V8. Similar acceleration to a Camry. The Scat Pack with the 6.4 is wayyy better. But only the Hellcats are actually fast. Very heavy car

I am in the research phase of car shopping, will be in the buying phase next year. I have no idea why I would go for any of the European brands when this is 30 grand cheaper (brand new, cheaper now a few years in with some miles on em).
Just depends on what you are looking for and want. Yea it’s cheaper but the interior also reflects that. It’s a nice interior but European brands will have nicer materials and for a cost as well. Good luck with the search!

Rt smokin a Camry any day if the week off a roll. Dig may take a lil to get up but once it does hawk down for sure.
They have the same 0-60 time. Probably has more top end with the V8, so yeah it'd do better in a roll. But certainly not a fast car compared to many others. Way too heavy and not enough power to be considered fast. My wife's 4 cylinder S3 would smoke this all day long

Car definitely doesn’t need a supercharger to be fast lol there’s several relatively small things you can do to make this compete with the scat pack and even GT mustangs and SS Camaros

Unfortunately these things are extremely slow even with bolt ons. It’s more of a daily driver than a drag racer

Not too hard to get 400+ to the wheel and then if you stroke it and/or forge the internals you can make serious power. And then you add some forced air and you can very much be in hellcat territory.

The RT has the 5.7. The 6.2 is the supercharged Hellcat engine. The 6.4 is the Scat Pack motor.
It’s heavy as a tank, but the center of gravity is pretty low.

most of this car isnt even stock and it seemed like you were pretending it was/didnt know it wasnt stock? also i think its funny you say its as slow as a camry. sure its not the scat pack but its still quick and fun to drive. i personally got a fully loaded RT instead of a base model scat pack. the 5.7L is plenty for me
This had a few cosmetic mods and an exhaust. But no real mods to make it any faster or better than stock. The RT Charger has a near identical 0-60 to a V6 Toyota Camry. It's just nothing impressive in power. It weighs so much. Your own personal experience of course plays a factor in what you think is quick for a car. I daily drive a 700 HP Nissan GTR. Needless to say not much feels fast for me. My car will destroy a Super Stock Challenger ;)
So to me this was very slow. Scat Pack is a pretty quick car, this 5.7 just lacks it for me

to be honest with you, they should of just thrown the ole 6.1 in the R/ts when the 6.4's were placed in the scatpacks...i'd agree, 375 hp to the crank in a 4k pounds performance vehicle just won't cut it..this pretty much sets the r/t's in v6 territory and they won't touch most v8's...i can put 2 car lengths on r/ts in my raggedy 5.0 genesis sedan...smh...and these r/ts cost like 44k now...you can get a much faster gt or ss for slightly cheaper..
I have a Shaker 392 Scat Pick Challenger video coming. I was very impressed with the 6.5L. This 5.7 really is all show no go. I think they should ditch the engine and just have the V6 AWD version for the non performance people. And then have the 6.4 as the V8 option.
Yeah the 5.7 just isn't enough to make this a performance car. The 6/4 is a solid choice on these new ones!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah, i will tune in for that one...the 392's pack a mean punch.....a person would have to be lost in the "sauce' to assume that the r/t, or sxt are a better picks over the scat...6.4's offer easy out of the box power, and no modifications needed in order to put on the hurt...i don't wanna spend 1,000s of dollars on bolt ons and tune the first month after purchasing a vehicle simply because it's not fast enough and with the scat., factory power is more than enough...

Some people feel this is a slower car and it really just depends on what you're used to. If you've had a lot of seat time in the 6.4L, 5.0, God forbid a hellcat, this probably isn't all that impressive. I'm saving for one of these bad boys after owning a 120whp fwd car for 5 years. An R/T will probably feel like jumping into hyperspace for me 😂
Very true! I'm used to my 700 HP Nissan GTR. Needless to say, Hellcats don't even feel fast for me lol. But most people will probably enjoy the pep with the RT. Scat Pack to me is much more fun tho and throws you in your seat enough

You don't pull up twice on the door handle, you touch, then pull up.
You should order the real longer shift paddles, they don't cost a whole lot, cause those stick on extensions are lame.
I've filmed a ton of the Chargers and Challengers. They never unlock when I touch the handle lol. I always have to pull it up once. And the button seems to only lock it. Yeah If I owned this car I'd do legit replacements not the stick on ones. When I had my Supra I did full carbon replacements instead of the stick on ones. Such a nice upgrade
