The thing I like about Rodin when fighting him is you dont need to wait a second for another perfect dodge when you've out from the previous witch time, because you have to dodge all the time .🤣
this fight was a living hell. took me 5 days of blood, sweat, and pulled hair to win. Tarturus and pulley butterfly for the win for helping me from getting one shotted the entire fight.
Fun fact if you use Alurnae, Pollen spray, Anything hit with it will cause your health to slowly regenerate. Also putting flowers on the ground slowed hum down. Also , if you use the mech in the umbran clock tower, You don't Lose health when you get hit, you lose magic which replenishes every time you dodge. 😉 Still was a nightmare
To be fair even without the health upgrades you never be one shot. And if you use the charm were you get health back you can survive other hit as long as you don't get hit twice. Also long as your health is above 1 percent he never kill you. I found this out the hard way

Tip for first phase: Dodge -> Immediately summon Clocktower > Punch > release LT is a very very quick way to chew through Rodin's health. It takes 75% at once, and builds a lot of combo to boot. Highly recommend pairing with Abracadabra to maintain distance + magic while going off with Clocktower. His AI also struggles with avoiding Clocktower's attacks, they always stagger him on hit (unless he's doing a breakout attack). Just remember to do it during a full Witch Time to maximize your Ora Ora time. Phase 2 reduces the duration of all witch times, so by the time you summon the clocktower, you're not getting as much out of it. Still pretty good, though. I'm currently testing if you could do the same thing but switch the clocktower for detonating Phantasmaranae to get damage in.
@@CarlTheSpud You'd need to activate it, let it ring, force-cancel the summon, resummon, and ora ora to get the desired effect. Rodin is like 90% hitboxes at all times - just get good at Bat Within, and you can destroy him. Also, pretty sure Phase 2 halves the duration of all sources of Witch Time.

Also the bell with Jeanne and the accessory that extends witch time synergize very well. Especially if you can already time moths within. I dont think you got any WT against Rodin in 1 or 2 IIRC. Infernal beads were useful.

For malphas it is used to pick up foes, for the abracadabra demon it switches formations to detect invisible foes etc etc) called "the maw" can instantly killed Rodin. Using the weapon Alruna you should already know as a player witch time lets you grab and slam essentially any enemy and some bosses... including Rodin. The maw has a weird wind up and even when Rodin is full health you dont get a lot of witch time. But I assure you if you slam dunk rodin into the maw (as the kraken is rising) it is an instant kill. The fight can take 13 seconds long depending on how rodin opens. 8ve watched plenty of Rodin fights and it always boils down to using 1 or 2 attacks repeatedly until they win. Like it or not, thats still cheesing the boss. If you are gonna cheese use the most effective method. Which is the Kraken method. Just because your cheese isn't as effective as mine doesn't mean you are fighting rodin more legitimately. Its boring to watch and boring to do. The kraken method isn't much more entertaining but its 30-60 seconds max to end the fight. We all just want the halo weapon and rodin summon. And there is nothing stopping you from going back and fighting him legit. Cheese is cheese is cheese though. I've seen people kill Vergil 3 with just nevan and Artemis using gunslinger. That is to say, that is not a very efficient Loadout to fight Vergil 3 with and is styling rather than cheering. You wanna know how to cheese vergil 3? Using trickster to assist avoiding attacks, just use killer bee on him (like an afterburner kick directed down) jump cancel, repeat until he parries you or teleports away. EZ PZ and he can still gank you on DMD difficulty if you dont know how to break his purple shield (he will DT and use judgement cut: end which in DMC3 is like firing judgement cuts with a machine gun.) DT yourself when you see the shield QUICKLY use Jam Session and pop, no final phase DT for vergil.
I found two strategies that work but I can’t execute them right all the time. Always use Jeanne. She has infinite dodges and doesn’t jump up and stay still like Bayonetta does after dodging a lot. 50/50 chance of getting Moth Within too. Use the Conqueror’s Reins and the Hymn of Durga to keep the Clock Tower and/or Baal from enraging. Use Abracadabra and Dead End Express. Only use dead end express for the black hole magnet type moves. You could also use abracadabras jump hold skill but train goes longer and is more suction resistant. Dodge and dodge until you moth within where you can use Baal’s song and then dodge infinitely again and repeat. Or use the clock towers punch attack and release to dodge or use abracadabra to stay a distance away for use it’s high damage. Good luck as I can’t execute this strat. Oh at the second phase, you can switch out the hymn of Durga for the star of dineta
the thing is the platinum ticket is the cheapest it's ever been but if you lose a lot to Rodin the weapon is the same price as the platinum ticket in Bayonetta 1 and 2 so really it's a bargain if you can beat Rodin.
Oh Rodin still a nightmare as usual. I only beaten him once out of 60 attempts in the 1st game and he's a monster in the 2nd game until the point I just gave up even trying to beat him. I'm not sure if I even want to attempt to beat him in this.
What the move does is if your at normal hp where your not seeing red stuff around your screen because your health is low, it gets your go down to 1 hit. If your at one hit, it kills you again

There're a video showing you can beat Rodin use Baal' acid rain alone for the whole battle. All you need to do is let Baal sing 4 times, and keep dodge like crazy while she is singing until the rain come out, each rain can cut off one of his HP bar.
Would love if that worked! Unfortunately, it's completely luck based - Rodin can instantly enrage her if he targets her, which can just randomly happen, at which point, you die, because her rage mechanic is that she continues singing - but the rain will only kill you.

Thanks for the input y'all, I killed him last night using Abracadabra and Clocktower. Just punished him for every Witch Time he gave me by summoning Clocktower and then having it punch the shit out of him. Shaves off like 80% of a bar in phase 1
I don’t care what the reward is, I’m not doing this fight again. I beat him in 2 which was painful. And given the difficulty of this game compared 2 I’ll probably kms trying to fight him here
But he could make it rampage which is scary dealing with both rodin and a rampaging demon. Good news is you can use a charm to stop them from rampaging. This is how I beat rodin with the frog poison rain 🌧

You can use his weapon and rodin itself as demon slave, and about pay for the ticket again I think that yes, you have to collect money again to fight him
The ticket stays always in the map, so you can fight him whenever you want, after you defeat him you get his weapon and demon summon (also a little note, if you lose to him too many times there will be a message saying that Rodin will sell a new thing, its his weapon. This is for people that cannot beat him after trying a lot, however it costs a lot, don't know the exact number but its like buying almost a second ticket)
I never fought Rodin before (I never played B1 and started with B2 on the WiiU, and recently finished this game), but today I fought him for the first time and *GOD D-N* no wonder his ticket is so expensive!!!🤯😰😰😰 INSAINE damage, no health or lollipop uses, and the highest health-bare I’ve seen?! I tried three times and gave up. 😓 It’s no fair that a weapon is at the end of a h-l maze like that. There’s no new level or enemies to use it on. Unless it helps you in the witch trials or you can carry your weapons and gear over on a new+ file. (Or a DLC) Shame, I *REALLY* wanted to complete the weapon/demon collection set. 😓
If you are still struggling with Rodin, equip Umbran Clocktower, Hymn of Durga and either Selene’s Light or Gaze of Despair. (I used selene’s light but I’m not positive if it actually helps or not.) You do not want to extend your witch time because you’ll be relying on Umbran Armor being on for the entirety of the fight and if your witch time is short then you will be able to trigger it more often and therefore get more magic back. What you want to do is summon Umbran Armor immediately after the fight starts, lock on to Rodin and hold back towards the wall and spam ZR. You do not need to do anything else and simply keep spamming until you’ve triggered a 4 second witch time. (Use her dialogue to tell if it’s 4 seconds or not) Then, get as close as possible to Rodin and spam the shoot button and it should melt his health, once witch time is over, continue spam dodging whilst holding back against the wall. repeat this process until he is dead. You don’t have to worry about rampage with Umbran Armor and can easily get a Pure Platinum with this method.
I tried this but i cant get witchtime when im using the mech and spamming into the corner so this makes 0 sense because i cant summon the mech in time when i trigger any type of witch time
@@scootergang8326 You definitely should be able to get witch time so long as Rodin is constantly attacking you and you are spamming evade. I’m not exactly sure how you’re doing it but it definitely works, trust me. I didn’t understand the last part of your comment, you should have the Umbran Armor already activated before you attempt to activate witch time. You don’t summon the mech during witch time, it should already be summoned. I originally had tried spamming towards rodin so that his attacks would connect however this is only viable for the first portion of the fight. Once he enters phase 2, it’s much more difficult to actually activate witch time so I found that a lot of the time my magic bar ran out. Through trial and error, I found that holding the left analog stick towards a corner and spamming ZR is the most effective way to trigger witch time in the Umbran Armor.
It's been 12 hours of trying to beat this cursed demon of a boss. 0 luck. The closest I got was getting him down to his 3rd life with Jeanne and withoight baal. Never in my life have I experienced so much pain. And I still haven't beaten it. AND NO WAY INGL HELL AM I FARMING FOR 9 MILLION SEEDS

I like to think that Bayonetta and Rodin have a "if we're both single" type agreement and that they bone once a year or two or something. Like, professional relationship with mutual respect, and they aren't particularly into each other romantically, but they know they're both incredible lays and sometimes take the pressure off.
Really annoying the only way they make stuff challenging is by one hit taking half health. We aren’t rosa we don’t do insane damage demons are useless here basically. Sometimes not but still even witch trials have this problem. If people want to cheese let them some people just want to beat it and be done not spend hours idc about being skillful I want the weapon u just end up doing stuff like this lol. This was the final nail in the coffin. I was on the fence, but this "game" is a hard pass for me. I like how platinum had no creativity and just lifted the same weapon and same defeat lines from Rodin in Bayonetta 2 and had no creativity like with the fight in the first Bayonetta.
Shame you couldn't use the different type of weapons together. Really wish people could do Combo Made videos for Bayonetta. I heard it's a difficult game and I know this sounds demanding, but just voicing my personal frustration.
As a weapon it's basically the same from bayo 2. But the demon slave is definitely worth it. It's basically the boss but as a summon. Hits incredibly hard and incredibly fast as well.

Prologue. Use Colour My World’s Astounding Touch and plenty of Midas’ Testaments to get a lot of seeds from the Verse 1 Homunculi. There might be netter places, but Prologue is my go-to.
The fact they made a boss fight so difficult that a majority of the players need to use a GLITCH to beat him just makes me wonder if Platinum Games even play tested their own games.😅
They in fact do, it's why these bosses are called "Superbosses" made to challenge hardcore players. I'm actually surprised they left the glitch as it is lol

In Elden Ring you can use builds that could ease up the fight drastically and even trivialize the whole game if you use summons + bleed builds Bayonetta 3 don't have any upgrades or builds that could help you, it's just you and the boss you learn the pattern and study what he does exactly to overcome this challenge and that alone makes him way more difficult
I fucking detest, LOATHE those goddamn attacks that are near damn impossible to escape, and that literally leaves the minimal amount of health left to get hit one more time... I'm pretty average/casual bayonetta player with basic skill, and I was surprised to actually be consistently beating him, until that move comes out. I even escaped a few times but I hate that you basically need to choose the weapons that let you dash jump away quickly. There's plenty of ways to make a character op without that 😒. P.s. It's just how I feel personally, I get its place in the game
I found it to be easiest boss in game because i can actually see what's going on and dodge, sure it's easy to die since he deals insane amounts of DMG but it's not cluster f like all other boss fights in bayo 3.

There're a video showing you can beat Rodin use Baal' acid rain alone for the whole battle. All you need to do is let Baal sing 4 times, and keep dodge like crazy while she is singing until the rain come out, each rain can cut off one of his HP bar.
Would love if that worked! Unfortunately, it's completely luck based - Rodin can instantly enrage her if he targets her, which can just randomly happen, at which point, you die, because her rage mechanic is that she continues singing - but the rain will only kill you.

Thanks for the input y'all, I killed him last night using Abracadabra and Clocktower. Just punished him for every Witch Time he gave me by summoning Clocktower and then having it punch the shit out of him. Shaves off like 80% of a bar in phase 1
I don’t care what the reward is, I’m not doing this fight again. I beat him in 2 which was painful. And given the difficulty of this game compared 2 I’ll probably kms trying to fight him here

But he could make it rampage which is scary dealing with both rodin and a rampaging demon. Good news is you can use a charm to stop them from rampaging. This is how I beat rodin with the frog poison rain 🌧
I like how you make her taunt him that was cool. You're really good at this because Bayonetta is a hard game to play, mostly all Bayonetta's games are hard to play when fighting. Thanks for sharing.
They weren't kidding when they said he was stronger he's got so many health bars, also nice timing on the witch times I could never. I'd have to verse him like 100 times to be that good.

Like if I quit the battle and went to another stage would I have to buy it again? Also I just learned the finisher attack, I was getting platinum medals without it but now I can guarantee a pure platinum.

You can use his weapon and rodin itself as demon slave, and about pay for the ticket again I think that yes, you have to collect money again to fight him

The ticket stays always in the map, so you can fight him whenever you want, after you defeat him you get his weapon and demon summon (also a little note, if you lose to him too many times there will be a message saying that Rodin will sell a new thing, its his weapon. This is for people that cannot beat him after trying a lot, however it costs a lot, don't know the exact number but its like buying almost a second ticket)

I never fought Rodin before (I never played B1 and started with B2 on the WiiU, and recently finished this game), but today I fought him for the first time and *GOD D-N* no wonder his ticket is so expensive!!!🤯😰😰😰 INSAINE damage, no health or lollipop uses, and the highest health-bare I’ve seen?! I tried three times and gave up. 😓 It’s no fair that a weapon is at the end of a h-l maze like that. There’s no new level or enemies to use it on. Unless it helps you in the witch trials or you can carry your weapons and gear over on a new+ file. (Or a DLC)
Shame, I *REALLY* wanted to complete the weapon/demon collection set. 😓

If you are still struggling with Rodin, equip Umbran Clocktower, Hymn of Durga and either Selene’s Light or Gaze of Despair. (I used selene’s light but I’m not positive if it actually helps or not.) You do not want to extend your witch time because you’ll be relying on Umbran Armor being on for the entirety of the fight and if your witch time is short then you will be able to trigger it more often and therefore get more magic back. What you want to do is summon Umbran Armor immediately after the fight starts, lock on to Rodin and hold back towards the wall and spam ZR. You do not need to do anything else and simply keep spamming until you’ve triggered a 4 second witch time. (Use her dialogue to tell if it’s 4 seconds or not) Then, get as close as possible to Rodin and spam the shoot button and it should melt his health, once witch time is over, continue spam dodging whilst holding back against the wall. repeat this process until he is dead. You don’t have to worry about rampage with Umbran Armor and can easily get a Pure Platinum with this method.
I tried this but i cant get witchtime when im using the mech and spamming into the corner so this makes 0 sense because i cant summon the mech in time when i trigger any type of witch time
@@scootergang8326 You definitely should be able to get witch time so long as Rodin is constantly attacking you and you are spamming evade. I’m not exactly sure how you’re doing it but it definitely works, trust me. I didn’t understand the last part of your comment, you should have the Umbran Armor already activated before you attempt to activate witch time. You don’t summon the mech during witch time, it should already be summoned. I originally had tried spamming towards rodin so that his attacks would connect however this is only viable for the first portion of the fight. Once he enters phase 2, it’s much more difficult to actually activate witch time so I found that a lot of the time my magic bar ran out. Through trial and error, I found that holding the left analog stick towards a corner and spamming ZR is the most effective way to trigger witch time in the Umbran Armor.

It's been 12 hours of trying to beat this cursed demon of a boss. 0 luck. The closest I got was getting him down to his 3rd life with Jeanne and withoight baal. Never in my life have I experienced so much pain. And I still haven't beaten it. AND NO WAY INGL HELL AM I FARMING FOR 9 MILLION SEEDS

i was doing this wondering why it was so hard, then i realized i accidentally was on climax-
I like to think that Bayonetta and Rodin have a "if we're both single" type agreement and that they bone once a year or two or something. Like, professional relationship with mutual respect, and they aren't particularly into each other romantically, but they know they're both incredible lays and sometimes take the pressure off.

Really annoying the only way they make stuff challenging is by one hit taking half health. We aren’t rosa we don’t do insane damage demons are useless here basically. Sometimes not but still even witch trials have this problem. If people want to cheese let them some people just want to beat it and be done not spend hours idc about being skillful I want the weapon u just end up doing stuff like this lol. I just hate the "lock" camera to him, it is not locking as it should, don't know why you want a lock in if the camera will point wherever it wants
This was the final nail in the coffin. I was on the fence, but this "game" is a hard pass for me. I like how platinum had no creativity and just lifted the same weapon and same defeat lines from Rodin in Bayonetta 2 and had no creativity like with the fight in the first Bayonetta.

As a weapon it's basically the same from bayo 2. But the demon slave is definitely worth it. It's basically the boss but as a summon. Hits incredibly hard and incredibly fast as well.

Pro-tip: Abracadabra simple X combo with a Demon slave finisher can REALLY clean most bossfights from a safe distance :) (seriously, this weapon is broken as fuck!)

Prologue. Use Colour My World’s Astounding Touch and plenty of Midas’ Testaments to get a lot of seeds from the Verse 1 Homunculi.
There might be netter places, but Prologue is my go-to.

The fact they made a boss fight so difficult that a majority of the players need to use a GLITCH to beat him just makes me wonder if Platinum Games even play tested their own games.😅
They in fact do, it's why these bosses are called "Superbosses" made to challenge hardcore players. I'm actually surprised they left the glitch as it is lol

In Elden Ring you can use builds that could ease up the fight drastically and even trivialize the whole game if you use summons + bleed builds
Bayonetta 3 don't have any upgrades or builds that could help you, it's just you and the boss you learn the pattern and study what he does exactly to overcome this challenge and that alone makes him way more difficult

I fucking detest, LOATHE those goddamn attacks that are near damn impossible to escape, and that literally leaves the minimal amount of health left to get hit one more time...
I'm pretty average/casual bayonetta player with basic skill, and I was surprised to actually be consistently beating him, until that move comes out. I even escaped a few times but I hate that you basically need to choose the weapons that let you dash jump away quickly.
There's plenty of ways to make a character op without that 😒.
P.s. It's just how I feel personally, I get its place in the game

There is and with this game you can get even more creative than in DMC, but I chose to play the way I did to be more safe

I found it to be easiest boss in game because i can actually see what's going on and dodge, sure it's easy to die since he deals insane amounts of DMG but it's not cluster f like all other boss fights in bayo 3.
