    I remember in end of Season 6 of Star Wars The Clone Wars. Yoda was having a vision of a version of Dooku who never turned to the dark side. He mentioned Yoda once slew a tarantatek in Kashyyyk which heavily implied that Yoda actually explored the Shadowlands himself. Which in part, would explain his friendship with the Wookiees. He has even more in common with Jolee Bindo than I thought.

      @Kaze's Corner I don't think Dagobah is anything close to the shadowlands in terms of danger. Sure it's a dark side planet but the Shadow lands are so dangerous because of the Rakatan and their darkside experiments. It's impossible to know what evil exactly resides down there, dangerous enough to not only scare the entirety of the Wookie species, not only enough to get them to live thousands of feet above ground level, but to do so for not just generations but for thousands of years.

Think tropical islands in the Caribbean but with cursed Mayan temples that are haunted by unspeakable horrors and that’s basically Rakkata Prime. There’s also a possibility that you might encounter what’s left of the Rakkata species, which have devolved back into primitive and sometimes cannibalistic beasts, but they’re so few in numbers that many considered them to be extinct but rumors still persist that they do indeed still exist.

    Kashyyyk has long been a subject of fascination for me, ever since I had the old edition of the planets and moons book. I was excited to see Kashyyyk when the prequels hit but was disappointed to see very little of the depths of Kashyyyk. Saw bits and pieces of comics with it, but nothing substantial. Then...Fallen Order came out. Omg...I was so excited, but also nervous. Would the Shadowlands be as dangerous as all the sources say? I wasn't disappointed. That place was C-R-E-E-P-Y! The first time I got ambushed by a wyyshokk I nearly jumped out of my skin--and I hadn't even descended into the Shadowlands yet! I was just exploring a side room near the big lift. I could feel it. Something didn't feel right...then...BAM!! Another time I was exploring a cave near some stormtroopers, and a big white one pounced. This time there were a few more clues (more webbing) and I knew it was coming. Man, great stuff. To this day, I still can't decide whether Kashyyyk, with its deep delve into the wild underworld, or Zeffo, with its alien ruins, was my favorite planet. All of them were interesting! Dathomir was kind of a pain in the ass to navigate, but the colors, architecture, and art strongly reminded me of Boris Vallejo's art, especially when I captured a screenshot of a moon between the spires of the dark temple.

    đŸ€” . . . Wait a second! Is it possible that it was Kashyyyk that created the Plague that Plagued the Rakata?
    Maybe do a follow up video that explains the nature of the dark side, how that machine on Kashyyyk worked, & then build a theory as to why the Rakatan Infinite Empire fell & such

    • @DBArtsCreators
      @DBArtsCreators Pƙed rokem +5

      Kashyyyk is actually the best example of the dark side doing 'good', in the sense of it creating life and spurring creation rather than destruction via the methods highlighted in Sith philosophy (as described in KotOR 1 & 2), with the wookies and the planet both being the highlight examples (such could likewise be said about Manaan, where the star map is implied to be somehow related to the development of kolto).

    • @nickvinsable3798
      @nickvinsable3798 Pƙed rokem +1

      Actually, I like to think of it as two negative numbers multiplied together, @@DBArtsCreators. Say the Rakatans were -111% good & their technology on Kashyyyk was only -2% good, thus -111 times -2 equals what?

    • @DBArtsCreators
      @DBArtsCreators Pƙed rokem +4

      @@nickvinsable3798
      Dark Side x Dark Side does not equal Light Side; that is like saying killing your best friend and throwing their body into oncoming traffic would make the killer a good person - the end result is still a greater evil even though both events are negative.
      The game is clear that Kashyyyk is not some inverted light side phenomena born of the dark side, but rather a dark side phenomena born of dark side power. There is no "good" in this situation, outside of what the wookies chose to do with their culture. Your suggestion does not work at all.

    • @nickvinsable3798
      @nickvinsable3798 Pƙed rokem

      That example, @@DBArtsCreators, is more like sacrificing an unwilling participant in order to save multiple lives; its basically multiplying a positive number with a negative number. For me, I like to think of it as stopping a murderous individual by using what they’re using: violence.
      However, in my ORIGINAL comment, I was also referencing an earlier video that this channel made, the Nature of the Dark Side, & how infighting could resolve itself into a Peaceful Extinction of sorts. Sorta like if humanity fought each other to the point extinction, how will life continue?

    Great video! 4:12, no, not really, I usually bad the time of my life fighting them. Just have to parry most attacks, unlock special finisher and boom. For me, as long as there were 3-4 max, I could handle it. The Slyyyg were more annoying, especially in Battle Arena. *REAAAAAAAALY WANT A SHOW ABOUT THE RAKATA!*

    Kashyyyk is very reminiscent of the forest planet of the "thinking forests" in Alan Dean Foster's Scifi novel _Midworld_ (1975), with a layered rainforest dominated by mile-high "home trees", with none of the sentient inhabitants of the mid-layers (as the canopy held its own share of flying predators) venturing down to the actual ground surface shrouded in eternal darkness if they could help it. Even Midworld's oceans were covered in floating vgetation. There are several plot plot parallels between James Cameron's _Avatar_ movies about the world of Pandora (though the story itself and the characters are completely different), that I've been wondering of Cameron ever read Foster's novel and subconsciously took ideas from it or if it's just one of those obvious "story writes itself" parallels in a story about an Earth corporation that tries to exploit a global rainforest on an alien planet.

    Kashyyk is my favorite planet. I wouldn’t mind open world games so extensive it included massive open worlds of each of the seven layers and just kept expanding on plants and wildlife and more territory and missions and also let you manage settlements and stuff like that or just let you be an explorer That’s a lot of work but I’d never stop playing for the next new adventure and trying to find the next crazy man eating wildlife
