- Explore the Royal Caribbean Dinner Buffet at the Windjammer Marketplace and see what food is there to eat! These were from our 2023 7-night cruise on the Allure of the Seas.
Since there is so much food to show, we've split the buffet dinner food tour into a two part series. For part one, which is this video, you will see the items that are available every dinner, plus the unique items from the first 3 nights. There is a themed buffet for every dinner, and in part 1 you'll see the Welcome Aboard dinner, then the Taste of India buffet, and finally the Italian theme dinner on night 3.
All of the food in the video are complimentary, included with your Royal Caribbean cruise fare. You'll also see which foods are gluten-free, vegan & no-sugar added.

All the food looks wonderful! Have never been on a cruise, being in such close proximity to so many people, the noise, the crowds, the kids!!! Not for me but loved your video!
Thank you very much! 😊 Yeah cruises can pretty crowded in some areas, but just about every ship we've been there are spots you'll discover that are more serene and not crowded at all. So hope you get to try it one day!

Sorry to hear that! Yes, Royal has a better buffet for sure than Carnival, though hopefully you're enjoying Carnival's tasty casual eateries.

I want one of everything from Italian Night!! Starting with the focaccia and ending with cannoli. 🤣 I was sooo disappointed with the corn dog. ☹️ I fully trust Joann’s judgement so won’t be putting one of THOSE on my plate. Again, thanks for a very nice food tour!

Hello guys and I really enjoy your videos. Comparing this Buffet with the one on Cunard it doesn’t compare. Even though I’m not a prime rib person, I would have had the prime rib rather than a lot of the fried food. And they did have some good salads but I’m not wowed. Aloha and happy sailing

I was on Symphony of the sea last month on a Transatlantic cruise. I watch your videos dreaming of my next cruise. where can you try Indian dishes, get steak, roast beef and salmon. Not going to find that at Golden Coral with the leave RCL provides.
Exactly! It's a good selection of well-prepared food for different tastes. We always look forward to the buffet on a cruise as well.

I know right? Especially since there are lot of good food at the main dining room as well. At the buffet it helps to take little bit of a few items to try, and then get more if they're really good 🙂

Hi Asif & Maria- thanks! Not sure yet- we usually book last minute, but Harmony looks like a great pick for a holiday cruise from Galveston for sure. There will be the new Carnival & NCL ships too.
I am so excited for all of the Indian Food! I feel like thats where I will gravitate to nightly.
They had a at least two different curries every night- we enjoyed them here and there as well!

It looked really good, though we were too full to try it since we already ate a lot at the main dining for that night 🙂
Where is the bread pudding and banana pudding? No matter how many fancy-smancy desserts there are, it is not a buffet without bread/banana pudding😐
Guys, do you thing the refreshing drink package is worth for the price?
Yes if you plan on drinking more than 4 or 5 specialty coffees, teas, sodas, or freshly squeezed juices every day. If the ship has Johnny Rockets, then milkshakes are included as well.
Maybe I missed it, but do they have crabcakes at the Windjammer on Welcome Aboard night? We are sailing Harmony of the Seas next month!
Crab cake is listed in the description for the Welcome Aboard theme buffet on the daily schedule ("From buttermilk fried chicken to Maryland-style crab cakes..."), but we didn't see it. Have an wonderful cruise on the Harmony! If you get the chance let us know after your cruise if you saw crab cake. 🙂

I was on 2 Royal cruises last year including Christmas. I've decided to no longer cruise with Royal because of the food taste in the buffet and dining room. People I work with agree, they told me I was correct when they went on their Spring cruise and complained to Guess Services. If a dining experience don't matter to you without having to pay extra cruise on Royal. In the Main dining room I ordered a Filet from the Steakhouse and it wasn't the Quality I expected for an extra $20.00 BTW..I've been on 14 cruises, Disney and Carnival, 3 Royal...no more!

We have cruised RCC long long ago. Most recently cruised on NCL at several different destinations. Seems the larger ships on NCL has more food variety. We are headed for HAL (Koningsdam) in Summer. In your opinion, what line has the best buffet food for options and quality?
Disney cruise line, hands down
Yes you're right- we also saw more variety on the larger NCL ships vs the smaller ones. As far as quality goes at the buffet, HAL has the edge over other cruise lines. Would love to hear what you think after your Koningsdam cruise!
We tried Disney about 10 years ago- really good food at the MDR. But the service too so long there that we never even had a chance to try out the buffet for dinner before it closed. We hope to cruise with them again, hopefully in the next two years!
@@TravelTouristVideos We cruised several of the med NCL ships in past years then the Joy in 2019. That had many more choices in the buffet. Last cruise was NCL Jewel and buffet was nothing very good. Looking forward to trying the HAL cruise. Many thanks!

I have a question for you lovely folks. Suppose we pay for an excursion but it is raining and we can’t take it. Will Carnival reimburse us for the excursion?
Hi Angela! Cruise lines will refund refunding the money if THEY cancel the excursion due to extremely bad weather or some other reason. Though many are a go despite rain, so make sure you find out the cancellation policy for the specific excursion, which is typically 48 hours. That's one of the reasons why for Caribbean cruises, we usually don't book excursions with the cruise lines, plus it's usually cheaper to get the same excursion once you get off the ship.

Yes actually- it was really good. But of course ultimately it depends on the individual masseuse. On embarkation day, most cruise ships will offer a free spa tour, during which they may offer to give you a sample massage. So you can book base on that as well.

I’ll be honest. Nothing here really wows me - HOWEVER, that being said - salmon, prime rib, porchetta, strip loin, and pork ribs win me over every time. I think I could find enough things to keep me happy here. I’ve got a more adventurous palate, so I’m a little fussy about buffets.
I feel like they offer a bit too many lunch foods for dinner, at least at the beginning, and way too many common dishes. Things like Bolognese and chicken parmigiana seem way too ho-hum to me. And “presentation is everything,” so they say. But I’m not fooled. You can make ham and fruit kababs look as amazing as you want, but I’m not fooled. It’s still fruit and meat, so what? 🤷♂️ 😂

Why are Indian dishes so popular on cruise ships?
Veggie curry is a popular dish for vegetarians, plus on some ships (like this one), the head chef is Indian 🙂

@TravelTouristVideos Norwegian has the best food, followed by P&O for me. Carnival and Royal Caribbean have been the worst. I just went on RC Quantum of the Seas out of Brisbane. Food was shocking.

Crew members will come around and change those out periodically. But yeah it's not the most sanitary, though most of the time there's a host at the front of the buffet who will direct guests to wash their hands first before entry.
Some of these items are nothing but low grade dog food.
But some are teals high grade.

The food on the mega cruise ships only look good,if you have been a cruiser back in the 60's,70's and 80's..you will know the difference..The NY strip served is not real beef...the quality of meats ,fruits and vegetables is of the lowest quality..I was on The Independence of the seas in December and ended up eating at the paid restaurants..Breakfast is the only decent food served...
Yeah the foods were definitely better, even from just a few years ago. But the staff usually does a nice job of making some tasty dishes from the less expensive ingredients.
