CoD 2 Walkthrough - Mission #22 - Defending the Pointe/Retreat? We're Advancing in Another Direction (American Campaign) (Veteran)
• Soldier: Cpl. Bill Taylor (D Company, 2nd Ranger Battalion)
• Diary:
June 7, 1944; 6:10 AM
Pointe du Hoc; Raining, 60°F
The Germans attacked us repeatedly last night. Sgt. Randall says these are just attempts to find weaknesses in our lines. Now, we sit and wait for their big attack, constantly on guard. The waiting is the worst part. We still have no idea of how the rest of the invasion is going or if we can expect reinforcements soon. It's not going to take much of a push for the Germans to finish off what's left of us.
• Current location: Normandy, France;
• Date: June 7, 1944
• Mission Objectives:
- Defend the south roadblock.
- Defend the west roadblock.
- Fall back and defend the orchard.
- Fall back to the machine gun on the second floor and provide covering fire.
- Fall back and defend the Pointe.
- Deploy green smoke to mark friendly location.
- Defend the Pointe until support arrives.

My grandpa was there in WW2 (Not specifically in Pointe but still in France). Sometimes I'm playing this game and I think, "Jesus, is it even possible for men to endure things this terrible?"
I can get through this game relatively easy is a small amount of time even on veteran mode as I've been playing call of duty ever since it came out
Along with the medal of honor series games though, in real life scenarios : it would be extremely worrying
Though, in real life scenarios would be mega dangerous
So basically how can us folks change the world 🌍 for the better?
I act of random kindness at a time, I suppose
Noah's ark - : act of random kindness
I love this mission. This and the Pointe Du Hoc mission before it are the best missions of the game in my opinion. And I just love that uplifting music that plays at the end of practically every mission in this game especially in this mission along with the speech at the end. It’s just one of the reasons why this is one of my favorite Call Of Duty games.
Me too. The one on this mission Is the best ever.
i swear this is one of the few COD missions that involve the player actually in a position of weakness and by god it was refreshing to retreat point to point with only a few men
A total criminal bearstedo psychotic especially on veteran mode though
The Russian campaign overall has better pacing and objective variety, but for sheer intensity, Point Du Hoc and Defending the Point are absolutely the best in the game. Reagan's speech at the end absolutely gets me every time, and the music? Completely moving.
@@FreshTillDeath56 whos reagan btw
Damn, Ronald Reagan's speech was the best part of the ending.
yeah it's preaty sad, i feal soo sad for them :((
Which speech was that? Sorry for sounding naive, but I'm Swedish.
Chuck Lee after you have finished the last objective, you will hear a speech from Reagan.
Sure was.....and always will.
@@youtubecreators384 Reagan's Address at Pointe du Hoc
This game was part of my childhood
Similar here
I still play the game until this day though, also play the newer version flashy call of duties as well
1 of the hardest missions
When they yell "get everything you got..this is it",, brings chills.. that's the reason I watched this mission..
It's always so amazing when you hear someone talking about the WWII especially a veteran.
Indeed
Scarey dangerous powerful in real life scenarios Though, I'm an expert on veteran mode in the game especially on veteran mode
playing the game for the first time in 2022 this is a damn hard mission, respect to the rangers who done i for real
At the End of this Mission I always Look at the Ocean at the cliff when this music plays before Reagan’s speech came on. The best part of call of duty.
I usually hide behind the concrete barriers or better yet : hide in the bunker and hurl some nades plus use the following tactics
Use the browning assault rifle weapon plus use some gas cannisters protecting from the opponents
The mp44 also helps to get through easier.
The good tactics assists a great deal
Love that every player at some point in this mission ends up hiding in a hole. They balanced it just perfect to where just as the odds are getting to genuinely be overwhelming, the fly boys show up and pull you out of the fire. It’s such an immersive moment
9:32 pretty much a death sentence.
Well there’s no way to go just a cliff. Lol
I usually go prone hiding in the area where the green smoke is.
Sometimes get up and use the bar or sometimes even the mp44 as it packs a serious punch though, also has a lot of recoil plus there's some spare nades in there as well
Back when Call Of Duty was done for the veterans... and it was fun, too. I miss this Call of Duty and as far as I'm concerned, World At War was the last good COD game that covered World War 2.
I feel highly honored to be able to play COD2 especially the American Campaigns.
12:38 this eulogy speech about the us rangers of pointe du hoc is what motivated me to never give up never surrender and never falter or die trying and I even record clips on my Xbox series x because I celebrated the 80th anniversary of d day and the battle of pointe du hoc rangers lead the way
this mission alone reminds me of the movie Tears of the sun with Bruce Willis. Fantastic movie definitely recommend seeing it
True
I remember during the beginning of this mission it was like a *meh just a regular mission* only then until I realize the enemies were pushing us hard back to literally where the previous mission began. I can already see beach and one time actually fell from the cliff because them Nazis are pushing so hard lmao and I look at my comrades and heck we were so few already. Fun times!
My childhood game gave me chills been honor fighting along side the boys
Of all the mission names, this is the best one. 😂
Hold the line! To the last ammo, or to last drop of blood!
2021.. still the best CoD ever
Melhor call of duty de segunda guerra q existe
Thank you Broither
awesome game just started playing fps didn't know what I was missing still not buying xb1 until a baseball game comes out.
Thanks had a hard time locating the green smoke.
Man this mission is so epic at the end. The music and everything.
The news call of duty dont have that ;(
Alguien podría decirme¿ quién es y qué discurso es el que sale al final de esta misión?
thank you so much!!! i know now how to victory the mission!!!!!!
the spish in the end it's just soo sad :((
Wow I tried to fight it out and it just kept spawning enemies, smoke grenades we're the missing part of the puzzle!
One of my favorite game 😢

I just noticed that Braeburn's voice is the same as Sgt. Hawkins from CoD 2: Big Red One
holy shit your right. Wow Ive played this game over a dozen times and never noticed that until now RIP hawkins
Don't forget he also voiced one of the US Marines in COD 4 modern warfare.
This mission is the true hell on the Veteran...
sdolnicek Not really. The only part that I found really difficult was when you had to get back to your squad near the bunkers.
Yes, I meant that part mostly, I kept dying, so I rushed forward as far as I could, Krauts killed my men and Randall started running towards the trench leaving me behind... (Tfw you get 6 grenades thrown at you at once :D )
sdolnicek Hill 400.... 'Nuff Said
sdolnicek The mission of Hill 400 is worse for both taking the bunkers and defending
Still not even close to real life combat...FIrst time you hear a bullet even as close as 10m from next to you the first reaction is to hit the ground and search for cover...Although in real life most bullets penetrate walls and wrecked cars, so solid cover is more for concealement. Also it gets very exhausting carrying all your combat equipement. It's such a terryifing feeling, you feel so alive being so close to death
Fact you can hold the Village for a long time, however the game will not progress until you fall back to Able.
My second favourite mission, the first is Holding the line as the British
I like to play the second call of duty of the game series especially on veteran mode as like the challenge plus it's not as hard as the newer version flashy cods
how to prres green smoke
Srbin?
cool
I don't have smoke grenades, mission not doable now?
Can easily re start the stage if like by pressing re start or perhaps even try the mission selection process all over again
I HAVE THIS GAME ITS COOL :D
Not just cool.....awesome.
this guy would have killed or exiled for desertion, but its obvious why he is there.
Christian. Xavier. Villagran Sarge! I'm just covering from a distance! I want to live but I also want to fight!
Oh yea of course no offense, I would do the same, but imagine in real life. Your comrades telling you to come back over and over again, and you just keep retreating, at least you killed more krauts then your team combines, A more strategic retreat.
