I explained this song’s lyrics and everything about Ruby Sales and the question “where does it hurt?” And I asked her that after she had made a post about wanting to commit suicide and we talked through what was happening in her life really deeply all within the context of what Jennifer was saying and I truly believe Sugarland’s lyrics may have saved this girl’s life

Thank you both for this song, it hurts to say this but I relate to the second verse so much, I was in a dark place in highschool and that verse really hits home for me so thank you for writing a song that touches on these issues.
