- Smash park is a course that I have been trying to film since the start of the channel! I could not be more excited to finally have a chance to display this amazing course! Let's see if it lives up to the hype and long wait!
#playdiscgolf #discgolf #frisbeesport #discgolfdaily
Wow !!! Thank you for coming and visiting. We are happy to have the course fully open after a lot of upgrades to the entire park. I enjoyed watching you enjoy it fir the 1st time.
Feel free to come visit for camp smash !!!
@@michaelmccarty7993 I had a blast playing that course! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Good to hear smash is open again I am travelling from UK home to Michigan this week and I’m about 10 minutes from this little gem
Definitely need to give it a play while you visit!
My absolute favorite course in the world!!!
It's a great one
I love my Westside moonshine Underworld 🦩
Those are a fun disc!
I love the teepad on 15! Shot selection is key!!!
Very fun hole forsure
Just played Smash for the 1st time myself a few days ago and was mind blown away with how awesome the course is
@@d9huis85 it is AWESOME!
Hell yes! Glad you made it out there!
@@jasondudda490 it lived up to the hype!
My two favorite discs from experience throwing them are basically brother and sister; Valkyrie and Sidewinder
Never really tried the sidewinder !
What a dope course. Definitely looking it up if the wife and I are in the area. To answer the hole 9 break: favorite disc has to be my zone. It’s a recycle plastic edition and it’s pretty reliable disc. I have an open bag but definitely have more Discraft in my bag. I also have a fascination with old innova molds. They’re fun and reliable disc and are great for these Virginia wooded courses
@eljay11to1 old innova in my language! But I can't lie the zone is amazing!
I’m team Innova all the way, except for my PewakkaWakka. My go-to drivers are the Teebird, Destroyer and of course the Pewakk. For midrange I go with my Star Roc3. I have a few others, but these four discs are the ones I reach for most of the time.
Teebird is a classic! Always a solid choice!
A favorite disc? Can't pick just one, but do go to these quite often: Westside Destiny, Dynamic Discs Escape, Axion Envy, Dynamic Discs EMac Judge. Why? They continue to do what I'm wanting even as my game improves and in many different conditions. Also, can't wait to hear the name of the little toad on hole 15!
Eduardo! Goes all the way back to my 5th video ever! Judges rock!
Simply smashing! I recognize the frog, but my memory can’t quite grasp the name. Too many favorite discs!
Eduardo! All the way back to my 5th video ever I think !
Favorite manufacturer is innova because I started out with their discs. Favorite disc is destroyer because it works well for me
Nice and simple, perfect !
🎉
Great putting. I’m on 8 currently on the phone.
So happy concrete tee boxes were put in. Just had my best round there last week. Really nice course. Open bag. Mostly throw Innova or discraft.
The course is in great shape forsure !
Favorite makers are MVP/Axiom and Westside. MVP HQ is near where I grew up, and I fell in love with Westside when I started due to their great stamps. Go-to discs are the Stag and a beat-in Reactor that I've had in my bag since I started playing.
Oh nice, Westside has some good ones!
kastaplast joey buckets lots. stable but shapey, paired up with a flippy glow version. I'm prepared to take on any woods course as well!
I don't really have an experience with kasta!
Loved watching you play this course. Man, that's a lot of trees!
Pure Michigan!
@@tossingplastic I remember being amazed by the density of pines when I was driving across the U.P., but I didn't realize the rest of the state was similar.
I just started and my first favorite disc is my Roc, it’s so reliable!
That one will probably stay a favorite forever !
Westside World for the forehand bomb. Innova XCaliber for the forehand flex/flicks
World's can crush that's forsure !
Favorite manufacturer probably MVP, I feel really confident with their putters and mids. I throw a bit of everything when it comes to drivers though.
MVP is definitely a brand I need to check out more!
@@tossingplastic Seems like you have thrown hex and envy quite a bit, staples for me. Crave and Tempo are also some of my most thrown, definitely recommend them, not that you haven't heard of the Crave.
Watching you throw that Piwakawaka all over the place has made me want to try one.
@Arafax yea I miss my hex forsure! I don't think I've tried any of their fairway or distance drivers !
What a gorgeous course!
I have a lot of Vibram in my bag, also a fuse, a comet and some other streamline discs.
Comet is definitely a fun disc to throw!
My bag has mostly innova with a few outliers...I like the Thunderbird. It's over stability is great so I can rip it and it holds true to what I'm trying to do. PS I love when you missed picking up the disc off the ground...I can relate thanks for keeping that in there😂
It's a huge problem of mine haha rarely do I get it the first time around !
I work in Belding and I’ll play the front 8 on my lunch break. The new Teepads are a massive upgrade and the signage was nonexistent before the update but I do agree some are misleading on the actual finishes. Playing in the area is the 24 hole course at Ionia State Park. Last time I was there it needed some TLC but another decent course for you to review while on the West Side of the State
I've done Ionia state park! Look it up on the channel !
Beautiful course. I know that little critter you were holding was either a frog or a toad but I'm not familiar with which species are in Michigan.
My favorite disc at the moment is a DD Maverick in Lucid Air plastic. I got it to replace the straight flight of my beat in DX plastic TeeBird, and it surpassed my expectations.
I play an open bag, but have a lot of Innova because that's what I started with and I'm familiar with their plastics. I also like the cheaper prices at their factory seconds store.
I have some from other brands. I research the discs, then try new ones from time to time.
Thanks for another great video.
That Lucid air plastic feels pretty good! Best choice for a nice light and straight flyers!
Meant to watch when it came out so I'm late to the party but looks like a sweet woods course without the oppressive heat like we got down here in florida. Kastaplast is my jam the Falk and stig are so money.
@@dave42015 I hear a lot of good things about the falk! I've heard the heat is insane in the south right now!
... Wait the rhino and sound affect shot was priceless
Glad you got a laugh out of it haha!
This one looks great, and I haven't been there yet! Need to make it over to this one for sure, especially after seeing your review. Thank you!
@@carmaadams7804 don't want to miss it!
Cool channel. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
My bag consists of mostly MVP/Axiom discs but my favorite disc is a Kataplast Falk, it was one of my first discs and has always stayed in my bag.
@Jbinkz I had a falk for a small time and it flew nice!
Valkyrie is the most consistent for me-stands up with a haiser flex finish. Valkyrie mamba got Legs!!
Love them!
Great video! High praise for hole 15. My Star Firebird is probably my most predictable disc. Not useful all the time, but I'd be sad to lose it.
Don't think I've ever tried it in star plastic!
@@tossingplastic I can’t say if it’s more/less stable than other options. Presumably less stable than Champion, but it’s grippy.
Westside stag is my favorite mold and I love latitude 64 plastic especially the grand royal but I definitely have a mixed bag with some old PFN Innova
Lot of people loving the stag! I have to try that one some more
At least that Piwakawaka is getting broken in!
Brutal haha
It is a great
It is one to remember!
My favorite disc is my ESP Zone! I have that light blue one as my thrower off the tee, 174.4 grams. Then I have a new zone that is pink with an American red, white, and blue stamp. My buddy Cody bought it for me. ESP flex plastic. I’ll go weigh it now.
Got to love a classic red white and blue disc
Have you tried Orangeville? Somewhat similar and out in the boonies. Nice and quiet.
@@jasondudda490 I have not yet! I'll look into it
Fun course! And to answer your question, Stag, and I don't have a prefered manufacturer
@@michiganmeateater5756 stag is a sneaky good disc!
glad you enjoyed Smash, its always fun. great content! i prefer Michigan made discs
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
My Ork is my MVP any day of the week at almost any hole. I know where its gonna go almost everytime.
@adamhauser6376 one of my favorites as well!
I lean Trilogy but I also bag MVP/Axiom, Discmania, Discraft, and Clash. Lately the Hatchet has been a really versatile disc for me. I'm not really a mold minimalization guy but I do bag three Hatchets lately.
I have never thrown a hatchet! Fairway driver ?
You should come play Madeline Bertrand in NIles MI . Its a steady ed original. NIce putter/mid course, all wooded. Love the content keep at it!
@brandondeppert8589 ill look into that one! Glad you enjoy it!
Your question about the oldest disc and favorite company made me realize how much evolution I have made in the last year.
The oldest disc in my bag is a neutron Paradox. I started with Innova, but found I had a need for a super under-stable mid. Research led me to the Paradox. It has been so trustworthy for anny and hyzer flips.
I later shopped for value when filling out my bag and purchased some Prodigy 300 plastic because it was inexpensive like DX, but had a better feel and durability.
I have gravitated back to Innova because of their disc and plastic diversity, using mainly GStar and Pro. I would say they are my favorite company.
Gstar plastic is super under rated! Paradox is a fun disc!
@@tossingplastic I especially love GStar in the winter, which is about six months long here!
Couldn't live without my Paradox and my Champ Rollo. So much fun to manipulate. When I watch you flex the crap out of your Valkyrie, I'm always like, "What's he doing?" Then the envy kicks in. I loved seeing the close-up of your Valkyrie in this video. Man, you two have spent some time together!
I have some discs that come into and out of favor, but my Star Leopard will probably stay in my bag as long as I play.
Nice reliable disc the leopard is!
I love MVP/Axiom! I think the Wave is my current favorite, but I have a real soft spot for the Defy. Doesn't get the love it deserves in that 11 speed slot.
I've met a few people who swear by the wave! Never really gave it a shot!
You should come play bald mountain and Columbus will bendik memorial course here in Michigan.
I've heard some good things on that one!
Looks like a great course, amd only an hour and a half away...
@dougthompson3457 that's doable!
So worth it. I used to live closer and go all the time. Now it's about a 50 minute drive and it's still my wife and my favorite course. We hit it up 3-4 times each summer.
18:37 That little guy's name is Fred. He's a bro. 😄
I love SMASH. It's about an hours Dundee these days, but I'm never disappointed. I was waiting for hole 15. I've never tried the big boy route, but even the hyzer down the right is so much fun. Great course. And you got there when it was dry, which is even better.
Does it have flooding problems?
@@tossingplastic No, not flooding, but more water in play. Some of that tall grass is usually water and on the bail out zone of 15 there's usually a creek at the bottom of the hill (typical landing zone for a good shot)
@@trevorreniger5670 ahh I see
Favorite disc: MD1
Favorite manufacturer: Discraft
Favorite discraft disc?
@@tossingplastic- for sentimental purposes it’s the Cyclone! Nowadays it’s the 2024 tour series Raptor…
I'm team discraft I just fell in love with the big z stamps and toughness of the plastic. I've been reaching more and more for my cicada it's a great fairway driver!
That's a disc I definitely want to try! Z plastic is crazy tough!
First!!!! 🎉
Also I’m a big fan of innova, I really enjoy really all there distance drivers I bag. Halo boss, star destroyer, sexton firebird. But my all time favorite is the GG halo wraith, it gets nice turn and nice fade very consistent.
@calebbell5583 oh I love my GG halo! I have so many throws on that thing!
My favorite disc is the Maul, followed by the eMac Truth probably. Latitude 64 is my favorite manufacturer but half my discs are Innova for whatever reason.
I have never tried a maul, but I had a friend who was ripping one for a bit. Looked interesting!
@@tossingplastic maybe a little too flippy for someone with your arm speed. Like 1 tick more understable than a River. Perfect for slow arms like mine
Hey bro. Nice video, like always. My favorite is my westside Stag because I throw it well and its my farthest thrower. Veered off from innova because of Matty O and Ricky and Tattar. I also love my DD Sockibomb slammers. Hes my favorite pro but I love that disc. I like Innova and Trilogy mostly. I think my favorite is Innova but I enjoy several brands. Want the Gorgon next
The toad's name was Antonio or something? 😂
Eduardo! Yea Matty O is the best! If I could play with one pro, no question it would be him!
I lost my 11x Climo champion Eagle last weekend. It would have been a candidate for favorite in my bag.
Oh no, that's a terrible loss! RiP
@@tossingplastic yeah I'm definitely missing it.
Did Edwardo eat Craig? That place has been on the wish list. I have family that lives in that area and have driven buy but it's never been open. After this awesome vid you've got me lichen to get there. So hard to pick favorites but I will say the Discraft Heat, Innova Mirage and Wraith. How is Craig buy the way?
He's been MIA for awhile. He travels on the road with me, not so much at home! He's a lurker
I remember him. Was it Eduardo?
That sounds right. I guessed Antonio but I think it was Eduardo now. Lol
Yes! Awesome. I'm glad someone remembered!
Hmmmm, I have a date with GR coming up soonish.
I’m thinking I can hit two courses in the area, I’ve never played anything near GR.
Smash looks good as does Fallasburg.
Any others I should consider?
Johnson park is pretty fun as well! Fallasburg. I personally would play smash and Johnson probably!
Eduardo
Yes! I'm so glad someone got it!
Undertaker first driver I ever felt comfortable throwing and Discraft I throw all discraft and fell in love with Discraft and the first brand I started throwing
Undertaker is a solid disc forsure! I never really got into but I see how many people love them!
I can bang out 350 but how are you pushing close to 500 on 15 like that? You're fast, I have been playing 2 years but I don't see a 100 foot increase for many more years or magic
@geetarzzzz that shot was not super close to 500 distance is a funky thing. I know some who learn to crush fast and others who have been playing forever stuck at 300! The people with more experience tend to be way more consistent!
Great video! What was the carry requires over the swamp on 15?
I honestly have no idea
Glad you enjoyed it!
Any recommendations for courses in Traverse City area that are a must play?
Bears den I believe its called is a lot of fun! I plan to film it in the future !
Hole 2: Tree-waka-waka
You got jokes huh haha
Frog
Is it Fred the frog?
Eduardo, way back to my fifth video I think!
