some of them called “filipiniana” dress, or the butterfly sleeves! as u can see they have a fan! FUN FACT: you can express your feeling with the fan or if you're shy you can cover your face with it! and the sleeves as you can see they will hold the sleeves. u can also use that if you're shy! that's what filipinas do back in the day! hope u guys understand it. love from the philippines 🇵🇭

Yes, when you use your fan faster than usual it means you're already bored and if im not mistaken when you close your fan it means you want to end the conversation with your suitor or something. Paki tama po ako kung mali 😂😂 . Basta yan lang naalala ko .

the "abaniko" or fan can be used to express filipina's expressions. Covering your mouth means you're shy or inlove, hold it in the middle of your chest means you're Nervous, etc.

    Historical facts:
That fan is called abaniko (or nowadays called as pamaypay) it is from spanish word abanico, meaning fan. Abaniko is originated in the Philippines during spanish colonial rule and influenced by the spanish colonizers. So, abaniko is like a accessory or part of lady's attire during spanish colonization and paired with Filipiniana, but it was popularly use by mostly the famous and aristocratic women in the Philippines.

The Filipino traditional dress have an influence of Latin culture since Philippines was colonized by the Spanish for almost 300 years. If you notice the names of the Filipino people if its not in english form, its in spanish form, even the surnames 90 percent are spanish like. Some of the local dialects have a mix of spanish words, like "porque" , Kumedor, La mesa and many more. Filipinos are not latinos, but the culture are similar. The Philippines have a province in the south that speak spanish called chavacano.

You should watch the compilation of (Phil) Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Earth (These are the 4 Major Beauty Pageant Competitions) aside from other Beauty Pageant Competition,. They are really beautiful (Beauty and Brain Competition) because it is a competition, they have to work hard (physical, mental, social, psychological, moral and etc.) in order to be in that position so it is not just preparing for a year only. Note: not all Filipinas have same face like those of beauty pageant candidates and actresses.

don't ever mistake a traditional dress to a costume. traditional dress have a significance in the history of a country and it's disrespectful to call it a costume like what you're using in Halloween, or costumes like the fictional heroes. don't make that mistake. what if we filipinos call Korean traditional dress fake.

@@jehgelo to be a latin country..a people in a country must speak spanish or portugese...and also have hispanic culture
so unffortunately filipinos doesnt speak spanish..
we only adopt spanish culture so we are hispanic..

Latin came from italy and the spaniards also colonized the southern america that brought up the beginning of latinos there so eventually spanish, portuguese, italianos, mexicanos and other latinos around the world are related plus latin language is considered one of the first language in the world.
