- Its that special day so many California ocean fisherman wait for, dungeness crab season opener! This year the conditions look real good and bluefin tuna are still around. Thought I would take the very rare opportunity to go catch cold water crab and warm water fish in the same day about 20 miles apart from each other.

When stressed tuna often regurgitate their stomach contents; hence, empty stomachs. Thanks for the vicarious fishing thrills.

Happy you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching!
Nicely done 2 big tuna and crab doesn't get any better. 👍😁
That's what's up Chris ...bluefin bite is wild way up this way 🤙🏾
Just a little tip. By putting your rod in a rod holder side ways or backwards it is pretty easy to break a rod when a fish hits it. Rods have a backbone and are ment to bend one way. You need to use the rod as what it is mentioned for to fight the fish. Pull up reel down. Also you never slam a gaff down into a fish. Always gaff from underneath up into the fish so their weight drives them down onto the gaff. Congrats on landing the fish.
send tutorial video to my email of you doing it with rookies from your boat. Would love to watch. thanks
@ChrisPfish2 it was friendly advice. Do what you want. I have 40 yr off offshore experience and have fished all over the world. I have caught 1000 pound marlin and bluefin. Like I said the advice was to help you. Your comment shows who the rookie is.
Great video, Chris. Love to see how you prep the BBFT. Big BFT.
Dammm Chris you are really getting good at catching those blimps congrats man!!
Another FABULOUS day on the water Bud!!!! GR8 vid!

Nice day of fishing good work!!
Wow. Just WOW 👏
Almost makes me wish I was back in the Bay Area. Great day and video guys! My wife would kick your ass if she saw you putting that tuna head in the crab net! Hahaha
Thats a workman effort guys. Congratulations ✌️.
Looks like an awesome day, let’s go!
Good job brother what a team work awesome 👍🏼
Nice catch Boys🤠
You are BFT pro now Congratulations
Awesome day. Special shout out for doing that in foggy conditions. We helped you load that pig into the back of your truck at the ramp. We get to watch an exciting 30 minutes of video, but it was apparent that you were exhausted and still had lots of work remaining Saturday night. You make the videos look easy. 4 tuna in a week....perhaps a second career as a sushi chef. Thanks for keeping us entertained.
Thanks for the help in the parking lot!!
I’m gonna start referring to you as ChrisPsashimi! Keep slaying em! 💪
Right on Chris.
A buddy of mine found some bluefin tuna carcass in the dumpster there and gave it to me to use at crab bait. Two trips with limits later they’re working really well😂 also that stabi behind your boat was beautiful🥲
Way to go Chris!
Great job Guys
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸👊🏻
The bloody bilge was awesome 🤙🏻
Fantastic fish! I have found the big crabs can actually escape. 45mins seems plenty, in may area. Vancouver Island. Cheers!
Bad ass bro keep up the good fishing
Chris chris I told you that Eric is the lucky charm good job Chris nice video😊😊
Epic video Chris!!!
Thanks bro, tug is the drug was stuck in my head that morning!!
@@ChrisPfish2 ha ha I hear that's a good song
I have been commercial salmon 25+ years, you guys had me on the edge of my seat, listen one thing you must get dialed in, when fish is ready for gaff, rod person NEEDS to step back, thus rod tip gets closer to boat, easier gaff.
Nice work on the BFT bro.
Dungys and Bluefin. How can you go wrong? Awesome.
Nice combo. You have gone from BFT rookie to BFT pro in no time!
Not there yet! A lot of mistake but will be there. Nice to see there catch!
I did immediately add a correction which is no longer posted?? Been to Bodega myself say ten years ago, we launched from the S end of the Bay. Great article, you are on my view list. Thanks
I appreciate you watching, happy you enjoy the videos. Thanks
It’s a dream to catch a tuna!
Nice one Chris!
Thanks Jun!
Take ur time on bringing in the fish on to the boat after being gaff dnt for get to free spool. ur gonna end up breaking a rod tip or a rod in half ... nice catch brother 👌 👍
My goodness. That is a dolphin. 😮
I hope one day I can catch crabs with you and enjoy a happy life
Nice cow!!!
You've turned into a regular NoCal BFT expert
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! DID I SAY AWESOME!😲
Best video AWARDS
thank you!
Wow 😮 nice Chirs👍
When do you go back next fishing trip? I have 26’ boat, can I share next fishing trip with you? Let me know ❤
YUM 🦀 🐟

congratulations on getting tuna fish
Hey Chris killing it like usual! Making people wanting to get out there and catch tuna on their 20 foot boats🤣. One question. What is that App you use for navigation?! And does it work with no service?
Dang dude. What a crew.....curious. how long is the drive out for your tuna (time distamce). I have the same boat as you but havent been out far yet. P.S. you inspired me to go the northriver route and i love it
im interested also
Also my dream boat! Just need to convince the wife lol
The drive is about 25-30 miles from the harbor. It like 1.5-2hr in dark uphill. 1 hour driving in downhill. yeah North Rivers are great! Thanks for watching
Right man from sac. Maybe we could do a twinsies buddy boat out sometime
Congrats Guys I wasn’t sure if you had any gas left in the tank to crab but than I saw the line retriever😂 nice video Bro 👍
Thank you, yeah i got a 45 gallon tank. used maybe 35 gallons that day.
@@ChrisPfish2 Haha I was talking about your energy left in the tank you guys seemed spent after those two ..
Congrats on the tuna success. I am also trying to get my boat ready here in SoCal.
I didn't see anywhere what boat that is, size, and where you got the canopy done. I need to get something similar built.
Also like the fact you have a radar. What model is it? Thanks man and I am a subscriber your videos rock.
Its a 2007 north river 20ft seahawk. For info on the canopy contact reel custom boat works in stockton, ca. Owner Jim would be happy to help. Tell him you watch my videos and I sent you! Thanks for watching chris
Get em lol 😂
Pro or Ameteur Bro your catching fish perfect ir not. Looks like your having fun plus it gives us beginners or ameteurs or rookies something to look forward too aswell. Learn from the haters just like the fans and if 1 is right thats ok. Take it and keep striving you can only get better
Wow mantap straikx perlengkapannya begitu sempurna mantap.salam kenal 🙏🙏👍 22:35
Incredible video! I don't know how you're going to go back to fishing halibut and salmon after this! Also, looks like you went out in the dark and peasoup fog. Do you slow your cruising speed way down when you're heading out to the tuna grounds?
Great job, you really learn something when you teach someone else. By the way what is your live well ? Just 20 gal polyethylene tank plumbed for raw water with overflow? Thanks for the video.
hey Chris, I really enjoy your videos. I watch all of them! Question? How far out are you going from bodega bay for blue fin tuna? and what areas are you fishing for them?
The reel is not a winch. It’s to store line and apply drag when the fish runs. Reel down pull up! And the gaf is not a bat 😅. But awesome day anyway guys!! Bimps on the deck!!
Feel free to post your how to video while catching bluefin
@@bprint555he’s not wrong. Especially with the way they’re using those gaffs. At some point they need to learn the proper way when gaffing these huge BFT. Someone can seriously get hurt!
Ya that gaffing was ridiculous
Ive said it before ,they should be using a harness setup
Dont comment anything like this he gets mad because we try to help dude got upset on his previous video where he snapped his rod where i told him he needs to put it on freespool when bringing the tuna aboard dude went off😂😂
You don’t want weight on hoop nets just in the center, if there is current the pot will bounce up and down and scrape the crabs, you want the weights on the outside posts so it holds the main ring flat on the bottom.
You need to ask F&G to give you one of their crab gauges for your boat., I have 3 different crab gauges, and all are deadly accurate.
Toss that gauge that is defective. Nice BF hookups. Always bring experienced BIG muscular guys when BFT fishing.
All your boys owe u a solid for getting them on this bite. Fish of a lifetime and in our backyard to boot! The tug is the drug and I’m sure they’re all fucked and hooked! lol
yeah man its cfrazy, no joke i had the "tug is the drug" stuck in my head that morning, i even told the boys. Your nailed it lol
Hey Chris, with those bigger bluefin, its a lot less fatiguing to point the rod straight at the fish, then lean back and forth with your upper body while reeling on the way back toward the fish. Once they start the vertical circles you can switch to using the rail. Winding in a big fish with the rod in a holder is just brutal on your body.
Never, ever, point the rod straight at the fish. You always want to keep a slight bend in the rod otherwise your pulling directly on the spool
i would lovvvvve to watch you reel in a 150lb tuna 1400ft back leaning back and forth reeling in. come on man! your back would break unless your hulk. Ideally you have rod holders in the gunnel. reel the fish to the boat and then fight the fish using the rail to move rod up and reel down. Your not holding the rod in your hands pulling back and reeling down. If i am wrong email is in description, send video of you catching them doing this on your boat.
@@ChrisPfish2 we do it all the time with bluefins to 200 pds and bigeyes. We never use the rod holders unless the tackle dictates it.Ive been running and mating and commercially catching tuna for 37 years.Go to my you tube page and you’ll see a 9 yr old catching a 60pd yellow using a harness.Plus you’ll see a lot bigger fish too, over 600 pds. With a good smittybilt built harness i can beat a 150lb bluefin in 30 mins or less with no real effort ,its all technique
What are you going to do for an encore? I don’t know how you’re going to top these last few trips but I’m sure you will. Well done! What are the qualifications for deeming an angler an “Old Salt”? You’re well on your way there…if not there already.
What speed do you troll for Bluefin? Another epic day!
11-15mph try for 12-13. thanks for watching
Awesome job on the combo trip!!! Are you fighting the fish in low gear or just high gear?
just high gear, to worried of the line getting loose. Only a few ways you can lose them, loose line, line cut on boat/motor, bad knot/line. Thanks for watching
Dude is that guy your twinn brother, he's better looking HAHA, CPF
good vids, consider the gym next year
Nice BFT Chris. After you wash off the fish and blood, does all that water sit in the bilge area or is this North River self-bailing and water will eventually get out?
there is a auto bilge that goes when i am driving and the drain hole in the back. thanks for watching
