The frontman discusses the band’s authenticity, mental health advocacy, and fun they have with their music videos, as well as their aversion to genre, love of Olivia Rodrigo’s rock aesthetics, and the mountain they climbed to make a big concept record. It’s with that in mind that Smith previews the work they’re currently doing for the next LP, which he says will be less concept driven and more guest heavy.
