    Fan of Edmonton Oilers and Ottawa Senators.
    In this year's 2024 Stanley cup playoffs - after defeating LA King and with I win over Vancouver, I wonder what if Edmonton Oilers would face Colorado Avalanche again to finish the story two years ago and then they will face the toughest team that haven't lost yet - New York Rangers.

  • @DanTesta58
    @DanTesta58 Před 22 dny

    Thinking the Jets would win was a reasonable pick. Colorado slightly surprised by kicking it up a notch for the playoffs, but the degree that the Jets collapsed was very bizarre and unexpected. We'll get a much better idea of how good this Colorado team is versus The Stars, who looked good in dispatching Vegas.

  • @shedworks6140
    @shedworks6140 Před 22 dny +1

    All 8 home teams won their series. To say home ice doesn't mean much based on the first round is not rational. Home ice does matter. here's why. Less travel if the series goes 7, which is huge for western teams. Home ice also indicates which team did better in the regular season which in some cases can indicate which team is better. 3/4ths of this years playoff teams earned more points at home than on the road. Add in some fan support, and it could be the difference in a series.The capitals were never going to beat the rangers, but in a close series, whether you could attribute home ice advantage or not, it definitely could be the difference, especially in the later rounds when the chaff has been separated. It's not huge, but i think most people underestimate it.

    Special teams will be the factor in the Canuck Oiler series. Nashville was the hottest team going into the playoffs and the Canucks shut them down.I think this will be a pickem series. You can give the Oilers the edge, but Vancouver is in their heads. It does make a mental difference if you shut a team down all season. Vancouvers big D will be the deciding factor. Or Miller running over McDavid a few more times. Will the refs let players get away with double handed slashes and crosschecks after a big hit? Not really a prediction, but would like the Canucks to win in 6. It is going to be a war. Go Canucks.
