I can't speak for all 9er fans, but I knew the entire time that they weren't going to be able to keep him. Pretty obvious, with their pending cap hits and how the WR market was exploding.

As a lifelong steelers fan, I think it would be very irresponsible for the franchise to trade away the future for a single wide receiver regardless of how talented.
There will be six in the next draft , potentially as good , if not better.

If BA went to Cleveland it couldn’t be as a replacement for Cooper. Realistically, Amari Cooper is better than BA why would you downgrade your #1 WR and give up picks to do it? Then again they did the same thing with QB so you never know.

Mannnn, after all these years of living in Youngstown, Ohio about 45 mins south east of Cleveland and watching them fail year after year, we finally have built a good playoff team who is a threat for the AFC North and dangerous to a lot of other playoff potential contenders.
I would love to have Aiyuk as a good reliable receiver and another weapon for our offense!!
However, I am also sad to see him leave San Francisco as they also have ties to the city of Youngstown. The Debartlos were born and raised here and when they became extremely wealthy and important people, they didn't abandoned our city and still live here and do nothing less than help support the city and people of Youngstown. We support the 49ers for that reason.
They are Superbowl champions and always have a successful season so Aiyuk would have had a better chance of winning a Superbowl ring with the 9ers, but he would help push Cleveland to become potential Superbowl contenders. I really hope he decides to come be sign with the Browns!!
I'm thinking they should do a rare 3 team trade. Send Cooper to NE, aiyuk to Cleveland and Borne to SF.

Aiyuk is spoiled, he's always been on a winning team . The Niners are kinda showing him whats out there and that the grass is not always greener. If I were him I'd take a 3 year deal for a reasonable amount of guaranteed money and keep winning rather than taking more money to lose every year. Maybe they could convince Purdy to take 35 mil instead of 50 mil to make room for Aiyuk. 35x5 is 175 mil. Still a crazy amount of money.
