The most thing i like a about you guys is because you guys not bring a local people to help you anywhere you guys go! Like I mean show you around! And that's amazing.
When you were walking in that dry river bed. It took me right back to my childhood. I used to look after baby goats and sheep in such an environment looking gob, xamar and dheemaal. The sound of the birds in the background Homesick 😢. When we kids we would translate it’s sound to “ Waan dararey, yaa i maala” meaning “I’m full of milk, who’s ready to milk me”
We got those dry riverbeds throughout somaliland, that's why u find farms near them, usually water in pockets of space like underwater rivers that seeps down when it rains. Nice vids as always 😁👍🏾

It braught back so many memories. I felt like i was there. Thanks for sharing. On the next trip of discovery....with all that soil errossion lets discover some gemstones. Red sand and iron are practically buddies and iron has a lot of friends that everyone likes. I think it'll be a hot bed. You might find some opals, ruby, saphire and diamonds. Not to mention gold carried by the current is lazy and sits where the river bends. So, gold panning/sluicing might not be a bad hobby. After all whre there is iron, there is gold. Unless it requres a gorvernment permit lool. Have fun. Asalamu calaikum.

Found this very informative. Our land is very fertile, the last land survey study done was 10-20 years ago and lacked proper funding. Insha'allah we learn as much as we can from our elders.

your mom is a very very very wise women,....everything she said is right! and if it is done it literally bring miracles and prosperity to the people in the area there is a lot of green vegetation.....i was doing a research in the west as water is also scares in some part of Ethiopia and basically what i found out is what she said for environmental regeneration.

..couldn't agree more with your mum. Sand dam is a sustainable solution to the lack of water in this region. However, the concrete option is expensive and a gabion structure to slow the water down is more viable. As for the exploration of water, you should use DOWSING RODS (any two iron rods) which are more accurate way of pinpointing where there is ground water. The truth of the gob tree like the acacia is that they are mine water from deep down to the peripheries..

May I ask...Where exactly from Hargeisa is that dried up river bed? And tbh what we need is more water catchment systems like ponds and small dams which in turn flow into your swales on contours, so you can grow your food/fruit trees without even watering them as opposed to capital intensive rigged wells and water pumps. Just my 2cents. Bless.
