The fiador, what it is and why I personally like to use it (again)

  • I decided to go unapologeticly hardcore old school and use a fiador on my hackamore. It became clear quickly why the viejos used it in the early stages of their hackamore training. There's been some controversy over the fiador on social media, but here's my personal opinion on it
    My apologies for having the camera set wrong, but that won't change the content or my personal opinions on the subject.

    Yep nice gear, made one similar to yours and been trail riding in Aussie bush for 8 years now. The horse has done plenty with a bit, but seems calmer and willing in a Bosal Mecate rig. Just as a preflight check we do a one reinstop a few times, which we have used, those goannas and kangaroos pop up unannounced. looks like a nice day there, time to mount up and enjoy your day.

      on here is a video : my 3 pre ride checks, the stuff I normally check to see if my horse wants to tune in. This colt is still figuring those out 🙂

      He's doing great, we ride about 4 days a week in Kiwarrak forest, I think the horse enjoys it as much as I do.
